We can’t praise our tour guide/ driver Ernie enough. Our tour operator provided us with accurate information where to meet at what time and as per expectations our guide was there waiting, introducing himself and preparing us for our tour. Our tour vehicle was a near new Ford Van ideal for our small group. Lake Bled was 1 hour 30 minutes drive which although quite a distance, our guide provided interesting information (commentary) via a Bluetooth microphone hooked to the speakers of the car radio. On arrival at Lake Bled our guide briefed us on the history and significant points of the area and set us free with enough free time to roam and take in coffee and cake. Lake Bled is beautiful and to take it all in you could easily spend four hours but as we are on a cruise ship time is tight and we still had a stop at Ljubljana Slovenia’s capital coming up we moved on after approximately 60 mins. Arriving at Ljubljana we were treated to a walking tour with excellent commentary including good options for lunch and then set Free to wander and eat with nearly 2 hours of free time. Our tour to Lake Bled and Ljubljana with Ernie as our guide was the best Cool Destinations tour we have taken.

Our guide Primož was the absolute best! He was not just punctual and friendly but he was full of history, funny stories and so likeable by our whole group. He went above and beyond any of our expectations. He even brought us to 1,000 year old castle for lunch since we asked for a recommendation. It was unreal. Primož, thank you making our time in Slovenia so fun!

Lake Bled was very nice, but we went on a Saturday and a lot of other people travel to that area on the weekends. Traffic was very bad and because of the traffic, we only had about 30 minutes there in order for us to get to the other location and be back in time, so we were not able to do the boat ride Our tour guide was very knowledgeable but also very concerned about getting us back in time Some other travelers were upset and even took a vote to try to stay at the lake later, but I am glad we got to do both places.

Karmen is incredible! She’s genuine, fun, kind, and has extensive knowledge of every landmark. She’s also patient and great with kids. We experienced authentic Slovenian cuisine before walking through the city on a personalized curated tour. Afterwards, she made sure we were fully restocked on supplies for our journey. I’d come back to Slovenia just to hang out with her again.

The most spectacular views in both Bled and Ljubljana. We wish we had more time- but were glad thar we were able to see both! If you are on a cruise ship- be aware it’s quite a lot of travel on the road! I would return to both !

Our guide Matejia was a gem! She taught us so much about Slovenia, its history and people while we were driving to Lake Bled. We had a little over an hour at the Lake and wished we had more time. It was magnificent and we could have spent the day there. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit the church on the island but we did enjoy walking around and sampling Bled cake. Afterwards we drove to Ljubljana and joined a quick tour with another guide. The best part was shopping in a local market and visiting the Dragon bridge. This is a lovely excursion that allows you to sample the country of Slovenia. We’d love to return someday.

Great day in Koper and Ljubljana
My family and I took a cruise in May and had the opportunity to visit beautiful Slovenia. Our fantastic guide Igor started the tour by taking us to Ljubljana where he gave us a walking tour of the downtown area. On Fridays in the Spring, they have a Food Festival at lunchtime so we were able to sample some wonderful local cuisine and beers. Then it was on to the famous caves which were amazing – take a jacket because it’s a little chilly. Igor gave us great recommendations all along the way and plenty of time to explore and do a little shopping. If you are looking for a full day excursion this one is perfect to see two popular locations with a very scenic drive. Thanks Igor for the wonderful day!
