I hadn't really expected too much from the Desert safaris since I've been living int he GCC for a long time. But I must say the trip was great and Aqib our tour guide from Fun Tours was great. Enjoyed the buggy drive, dune bashing, the dinner show and the ending piece.

We loved the Old Dubai walking tour with Ricky. It was the perfect length for our family with pre-teen kids, and the pace kept everyone engaged without feeling rushed. Ricky was extremely knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting history and local insights. All entry fees were included, which made the experience very easy. Be sure to bring some cash for tipping and any purchases along the way. The local restaurant recommendation was fabulous and a real highlight of the day. Highly recommend for families wanting to explore Old Dubai.

had a great walking tour with Islam Shady. Now, my only warning is to wear comfortable shoes … this is NOT an “on and off” tour; you will be walking. And it will be fun.You will be on both sides of the river (don’t worry, there is a ferry). Islam Shady is a very knowledgeable and personable individual who will show you unexpected sights … a Hindu temple just across the alley from a mosque, a Sunni mosque right across the square from a Shia mosque, and individuals from all cultures working and enjoying life together. His English is very good and he is easy to understand. He interacts with people on the tour and makes it easy to ask questions. He also wants to learn from you. There were Aussies and Americans in this group and he engaged to learn our personalities and perspectives.While there were shopkeepers with whom we visited, there was very little pressure to buy anything. In the gold and spice souks, there were massive amounts and displays … but, we were NOT forced to enter any. The coffee museum was particularly interesting. But, as always in this part of the world, be prepared to sample coffee throughout the tour.Islam Shady has a keen eye and a good sense of humor. He was a joy to explore with. I highly recommend.

Patricia was an excellent guide. She not only gave us a history of the area around the creek but gave us an insight into more recent development in Dubai and the UAE. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and also got some useful tips about items worth buying in the souks.

This activity is not for the environmentally conscious but is a great way to get out to the relatively unaltered desert landscape. ‘Bashing’ 4WD on the dunes is kinda silly and destructive. This activity results in a large number of discarded plastic water bottles and trash you will see throughout the dunes. On the other hand sand boarding is a less impactful, fun and far less destructive part of the trip. More sand boarding, less driving please.The dinner was good, but more commercialized than expected. For example belly dancing yes, fire dancers not really a great addition. My wife did go to the henna tattoo booth and absolutely loved that option.Please care for the Sharjah desert and remove the trash !

What an experience! I was already excited to try new food, but Ali made the experience even better. He’s super personable, easy to talk to and has absolutely killer food suggestions. Make sure you have plenty of room before you go, because he will do an exquisite job filling you up with all kinds of food, and teaching you all about the history of the city. He really made the experience that much more enjoyable.

The food was amazing, Ali is very good to work guide. He took us to the places we wanted to go and help us negotiate. He was very willing to accommodate us for what we wanted to do. We tasted a lot of new foods and had a great time. I highly recommend booking this tour with Ali.

We had an amazing desert safari experience! Everything was great, and our guide, Nawaz, was absolutely wonderful., he helped us with everything, made us feel comfortable, and gave us such a fun and exciting ride through the dunes. He also took some beautiful photos for us. We really enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely recommend it!

Great tour of old Dubai, the textile souk, spice souk, and the gold souk! Pri was amazing and very warm. We had great conversations and learned about Dubai. She also helped us with some purchases to make sure we got good prices. Highly recommended and would be happy to do more tours with Pri!

Fantastic tour! Must do while in Dubai. Learn a lot about the culture and history. A side of Dubai everyone should visit.

Do make time to have a drink at the tearoom where you’ll meet Ricardo , it’s lovely ! Ricardo was an excellent guide, we really enjoyed the tour. He takes you through the markets , over the creek and to the spice market / gold souk . Plenty of time to buy things. Highly recommended!
