We LOVE Dannyboy!! He was so kind and greeted us with good vibes! He gave us plenty of water and free piton beers for after the hike. He is full of information about St. Lucia and our ride with him was one of the highlights of our trip!The hike was challenging but rewarding. Amazing views and so worth the climb! I don't even know where to start! Before you finish reading, BOOK THIS excursion with Dannyboy! I not only had the opportunity to meet Danny but his colleague Lloyd as well and to say they were both kind and extremely knowledgeable would be an understatement. I just recently came back from St. Lucia and while I was there I wanted to hike the Piton mountains and wanted somebody to show me around as well as educate me on the culture and I could not asked for anybody better than Danny & Lloyd. My original booking was not until 8:00 P.M. the night before I wanted to do this lol as I was booking this last minute and called and Dannyboy himself answers and assures me his colleague Lloyd will be at my resort to get me at 6:00 A.M sharp to start the journey due to him being booked with a client already (Lloyd arrived at my resort 10 minutes early). Lloyd provided such a great experience that I actually ended up booking another trip with them the very next day. By the time I had got back with Lloyd he was then booked with a client which ultimately worked out perfect because I was then introduced to DANNYBOY! With the help of both of them my girlfriend and I were able to explore & hike the piton mountains, see the natural waterfalls, & explore the Sulfur Springs park.

Dannyboy was an excellent guide for our excursion! He picked us up exactly when and where we expected, and he brought great enthusiasm and energy to our early morning drive. Along the drive, he taught us everything he knows about St. Lucia's history, landmarks, and anything else we had questions about. During the drive back, he continued to entertain any questions we had while also respecting that we were tired and wanted a nap on the way back!Regarding the excursion itself, the hike was definitely challenging, even for us as experienced hikers. The humidity and the steep incline of the climb made for a tough but beautiful hike. The admission fee is a bit expensive, but it is certainly worth it to hike once while in St. Lucia. The crowds were heavier near the bottom, then thinned out the higher you climbed as some people turned around before the top. Overall it is a great hike, you can expect it to take about 4-5 hours if not more. Make sure to have water and some sunscreen!

Our driver was very knowledgeable and personable. He stopped along the way for some photos and picked us some mangoes.

This was a great hike up one of the Pitons. Warning: please be in better shape than I was, only made it halfway up! This is not a normal trail path, but a rock climb! But even at halfway, the view is spectacular! The full climb takes about 4-5 hours...but it varies depending on speed and your ability to keep up with the guides, who are great assistants! Walking sticks are provided and definitely needed for your first go!

We booked Dannyboy for the hike on Day 1 then his local tour day 2 and would strongly recommend it for anyone going to St. Lucia! Resorts will shuttle you back and forth but we wanted a private experience and our expectations were exceeded to say the least. Dannyboy drives you to the base of the piton and waits while you hike with a local guide there. You will need a credit card and/or cash for admittance into the park and optional tip for the guide and this cost isn’t included in your trip. Make sure you bring lots of water (1.5L each person) and whatever snacks you may need. The hike was challenging but fun and took us about 4 hours with awesome views the whole way. When we finally made it down, Dannyboy had 2 cold piton beers and waters with the AC cranking and ready to take us back. We felt bad being so tired coming back but he was incredibly accommodating and we can’t imagine doing this experience without him.

This was a very challenging but rewarding hike to do with my family. It took us exactly 4 hours total to complete the entire hike and was so much fun. Our guide gave us tips on how to climb down which was helpful because climbing down can be tricky. The driver was also extremely nice and got us there and back safely!

Danny boy was amazing and he did a great job at making our experience memorable! Also our tour guide was great!

Saw Dannyboy & Co. on YouTube video re Gros Pitan tour and was shocked to see him in person to pick us up. Dannyboy is one of a kind: informative, entertaining and efficient [PH.D. in Pot-Hole Dodger as he boasts]. Make sure you ask for him!!

The hike was really great and our guide was friendly, but the Cool Destinations tour is just for the transportation. Our driver was fun to chat to, but if you have a car you don't need this tour. You can get a guide at Gros Piton yourself as the entrance fee is not included in the tour fee.

Can I give Danny more than five stars? He was our tour guide for our hike of gros piton. He picked us up on time, was so outgoing and positive, in addition to being professional, and very organized. His bus— spotless. He took time to tell us so much about this island we now love— the history, the ecosystem, endangered animals, its beautiful people. My kids 20, 18, 16 were totally engaged with his animated storytelling. He allowed us to customize our tour, and took us to an amazingly authentic creole restaurant on the water, plus a hot volcano spring (not mud) which was privately owned. We were the only ones there and I truly felt like I was somewhere in Jurassic park. He quietly organized everything from asking our hiking guide to call him when we were almost finished the hike so he could pick us up at the precise time. Then he called ahead to the restaurant with our menu orders so we would not wait long. He’s a gem. Thank you Danny!!!!

Dannyboy picked us up at the appointed time. It is super nice, gives explanations about Saint Lucia / tips. He was there to take us back to our accommodation also, always with his good mood. Great hike on the big stud with a very nice guide who did not hesitate to give us advice. The view was beautiful! I recommend for people a sporty minimum!

This is a tough hike both because mostly rocks and boulders, and a lot of elevation gain. But one can always turn back. Dannyboy doesn't hike with you because it must be the government guides but he is funny and a great guide about the island!

From our extremely charismatic and knowledgeable driver Dannyboy, to the exhilarating, challenging and rewarding hike, my wife and I would highly recommend doing the Gros Piton hike if you’re looking for a fun, ‘full-body’ cultural experience.In regards to the hike itself, I’m relatively fit, playing football 1-2 times a week and found it very manageable yet still an enjoyable challenge, made much easier with a walking stick which you can rent for $5USD. The hardest part for me was navigating the rocks going upwards and for my wife it was going down on the rocks due to the pressure of the steep decline. We were all smiles at the top which had amazing panaromic views and at the end of our less than 5 hour round trip hike. Capped off at the bottom of the mountain with a homemade guava & sour-sap ice cream at a quaint souvenir shop.
