An educational and fun time, learning unique things about St. Lucia rum making and doing rum tasting, (generous) along with the chocolate making process from the flower to the edible object, and getting a hands on experience tempering chocolate and creating our own bar! Our chocolate instructor, Hagar, was wonderful, and our driver/tour guide Tenesan was outstanding, friendly and very informational along the way--we highly recommend him!

We arrived at Hotel Chocolat and were greeted by Nathan. He explained all about growing cocoa and we found it really interesting and informative. Remember - no nibs, no chocolate 🍫. We then went to the bar where we tried chocolate tea. After that we went upstairs where Jonathan showed us how to make our own bar of chocolate. After lunch our chocolate had been in the blast freezer and was returned to us. This was really fun, quite hard work and more facts. Loved it. We then had lunch. The food was great. Would definitely recommend a visit, especially if you love chocolate

This tour was a fantastic value. We started the day on a catamaran sail, with refreshments provided. After that we went on the Chocolate tour at Hotel Chocolate. It was very interesting, we learned lots about the chocolate making process and it was so fun (albeit a lot of work) to make our own chocolate bars to take home. We ate amazing food at the Hotel Chocolate, and had time to shop and visit with tour mates. After all of that we went to the Sulfer Springs where our tour guide insisted on getting lots of pictures of all of us (something we forget to do a lot). And then we still finished the day with snorkeling by the Pitons and then a sunset catamaran ride (again with refreshments provided) back to Castries. This tour was a great value, you get so much for what you pay, and the tour guides are really fantastic and want you to enjoy your day. You will not be disappointed if you book this tour.

We took the Soufriere Excursion with Rum & Chocolate Tasting tour and had a great day! The cruise down the coast from Rodney Bay to Soufriere was beautiful, even with a few tropical rain showers. In Soufriere, most people on the catamaran chose the volcano/waterfall/mud bath tour so only 4 of us went on the rum and chocolate tasting tour. We were transported by taxi to the Morne Coubaril Estate, a historic plantation that was founded in the early 1700’s. The tour was educational as we learned about different tropical plants that the natives used for medicinal purposes. The best part was learning about how chocolate is made. Our guide cracked open a cocoa pod and showed us the beans covered with a sweet white creamy substance. We then learned how the cocoa is fermented, dried and roasted. Later, we tasted chocolate made from cocoa grown on the estate. We also tasted fresh coconuts. We then tasted 11 rums ranging from 12.5% alcohol to 80% alcohol - all made in Saint Lucia! Our favorite was the Chairman’s Spiced Rum. We also had a tasty lunch buffet at the estate. On the return trip to Rodney Bay, we stopped for snorkeling for ~30 minutes and also cruised through lovely Marigot Bay. The crew was very friendly - we thoroughly enjoyed them! On the cruise, Piton beer, rum punch, Diet Coke and water was available. I can highly recommend this experience.

We had an amazing experience at the distillery and Cocoa Sainte Lucie. Hager was an amazing instructor at the Cacao Sainte Lucie and my husband and I enjoyed the experience maki g our own personalized chocolatebars. Our driver Mervin was amazing and expert driver of these winding roads, greatly appreciate him and his knowledge about Saint Lucia.

Well organized tour. All of the tour guides were friendly and fun. Picked up at 8:20a and dropped off at 8:30p; it is an all day tour but worth it.

Our full-day excursion with Island Routes was hands-down our favorite experience in St. Lucia! We did the catamaran cruise to Soufrière, and everything from start to finish was incredible. The boat ride was smooth and scenic, and we loved getting to make our own chocolate at Hotel Chocolat—such a fun and unique experience! Our guide even kept our handmade chocolate bars in a cooler so they wouldn’t melt.The included lunch was absolutely delicious, and after that, we enjoyed a relaxing mud bath. They even added a bonus volcano tour that wasn’t originally part of the package, which was a great surprise. We also got to snorkel at the base of the Pitons—an unforgettable spot with beautiful underwater views.To top it all off, the return cruise at sunset was stunning, complete with appetizers, beer, and rum punch. Transportation to and from our resort was included and on time, making the day totally seamless.We’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting St. Lucia—it was a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and culture!

Our Private Mercedes Driver was Allyne Philip he was very friendly and polite and his knowledge of the Island was very impressive and his safe driving made us feel very comfortable. What an enjoyable day we had.

The excursion was excellent and even though we missed our pickup time/location the company made sure we got picked up and back on track for the tour. Amazing staff and great DJ. Had a blast! Highly recommend!

This was such a fun outing! It was really cool to tour the rum facility while they were in production and you got to do an unlimited tasting at the end with lots of different varieties and flavors to choose from. We LOVED the chocolate making course. One of our favorite parts of our trip was making our own chocolate bars! The only downfall for us was the travel from each location, which is common around the island with most of the middle of the island being a rainforest. We had a private driver for this trip, Tenasen, who was really engaged with us and stopped at all the scenic spots for photos ops! He really added to our experience!

The boat trip was really good - we were really looked after! The rum and chocolate tasting was also really good and so was lunch. The only issue was their logistics could be improved e.g. everyone was told their pick up was 8.15am when it was a little later (we were the 1st ones to be picked up at 8.30am), we were the only one doing the rum and chocolate tour and the pick up to it was super great but we got dropped back to the dock for the boat about 45 mins before the rest of our tour group (who were still having lunch). We didn't get communication on how long the rest of the group would be and was stuck in the heat. Thankfully, a tour guide from an early tour saw us and gave us good advice to go to the bar across the road to watch when the boat comes in. The drop off was also chaotic with us passing our hotel a few times and being driven far out into the countryside. If the logistics were better or better communication about the logistics then it would have been a 5/5.

Great day with our driver Tenasen across the beautiful Island of ST Lucia. Tenasen was such a great host very knowledgeable about the Island ,history and culture. We had a chance to see some amazing sights. We would highly recommend this trip whilst in ST Lucia and our amazing host Tenasen.

Great experience, really enjoyed learning about how chocolate is made. Bonus that we got to make our own. Fun activity.
