This was my favorite tour that we took during our week split between Prague and Brno. The Lednice castle and grounds were beautiful and the wine cellar was most unique. There were several additional stops, a church, wine tasting, etc were also interesting. One of the best aspects of the tour was the ability to customize to exactly what we wanted to see and the pace.

I absolutely loved my tour with Carcatta! I was a little uneasy about booking a wine tour on my own, but from the beginning, everything was professional, well organized, and easy. If you are planning to visit the Austerlitz battlefield, hire Helena Svedova — she is, without question, the best battlefield guide you will find. I engaged Helena for a private tour in June 2026 as a solo traveler, and the experience exceeded every expectation I had going in. Helena's command of English is excellent, and her manner is warm and genuinely accommodating. She works with a well-developed standard route that reflects real expertise, but she never treats it as a rigid script. When I asked to adjust the plan, explore additional areas, or double back to study particular spots more closely, she adapted immediately and enthusiastically — the sign of a guide who is there for the client, not just the itinerary. As a retired military officer who has taught military history, I arrived having already studied the battle in depth, and I came away impressed. Helena goes well beyond the standard tour experience. When unharvested crops blocked the direct approach to the Vinohrady summit — the lower of the two Pratzen Heights, marked by its prominent cross — she parked as close as the terrain allowed and then walked with me for more than half a mile so we could reach the site anyway. Elsewhere, she skillfully drove her own vehicle over unpaved back trails and farm paths to cover the full sweep of the battlefield, giving me access to ground that most visitors never see. Her dedication starts before the tour even begins. In advance of my trip, Helena tracked down, obtained, and mailed me a topographic map of the battlefield so I could prepare and study the terrain before arriving in the Czech Republic. That level of proactive care is rare, and it made the tour itself far richer. Even the small touches added to the day: Helena's dog joined us on the tour, a friendly companion who added a memorable moment of levity when he took off after a young deer that bolted from the cornfield as we made our way back to the road. The Austerlitz battlefield has changed remarkably little since 1805, and there is no better person to guide you across it than Helena Svedova. Her knowledge, flexibility, work ethic, and genuine enthusiasm for giving visitors the fullest possible experience make her an easy and enthusiastic recommendation for anyone planning to explore this historic ground.

This was an excellent tour of the battlefield with BRNOguide Helena. My 14 year old wanted to see Austerlitz and this tour enabled us to get a really good sense of the terrain, tactics, personalities and evolution of the battle as well as context and local knowledge.

It does require a bit of walking and up and down stairs. This was not a problem for ourselves as the guide kept a good pace. Our driver and guide Helena was fantastic. Before and after the caves she sowed some beautiful churches in the small towns going to and back.

The trip was wonderful, and we had a fantastic experience! Our guide, Helen, was extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. She stayed with us for almost the entire day and provided us with lots of interesting information about the caves, as well as the history and culture of Brno. Her explanations made the trip much more enjoyable and meaningful. We truly appreciated her enthusiasm and professionalism. Highly recommended!

Helena was fantastic. She taught us a lot. The caves were worth the trip. They are beautiful. The boat ride made it different from caves we have seen previously. The castle tour was good, but you have to read English pamphlets.

We had an amazing time with Helena and her super sweet and well behaved dog. Her driving was excellent and she could really hold great conversations and share so much knowledge about the sights and surrounding areas. The timing of everything was fantastic and seeing all these locations in one day was a highlight of our Central Europe trip. The abyss was beautiful seen from up high and down below. The boat ride through the Punkva Caves so much fun, but make sure you have your wits about you as you will have to lean and duck as your boat driver masterfully weaves the tight turns at a steady yet gentle pace. Pernstejn Castle was great to see from afar and then tour around in person. Highly recommend!

we chose to stay a night at Telc and while i was doubtful about not having much to see, this audio guide helped me. My parents (at their 70s) and I had a nice and relaxing day strolling in Telc by following the audio guide. Highly recommended!

We were picked at our Brno hotel promptly at 9. The car was comfortable and Rosta was a safe driver. We toured beautiful palaces, had two wine tastings - one in a traditional wine cellar - and learned a lot about South Moravian history and we drove through the countryside. This was a highlight of our central European vacation.

Helena was a great host. Very friendly and kind. Knows a lot about the area and was very flexible. I brought my dad to Europe to have surgery so I was travelling by myself while not at the hospital. I really enjoyed having someone to spend time with and tell me about the area.

Helen was our tour guide. I can't say enough about how fantastic she was. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the caves. She ensured we had all our needs met and questions answered. I would book any tour with Helen again! We had a delightful traditional lunch and she gave us a ride to another place and included history/info continuously as we went. One of my favorite tours of this trip.

This Austerlitz battlefield tour was one of the highlights of my stay in the Czech Republic. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the events of 1805 to life with engaging storytelling and clear explanations of the terrain and strategy. We visited all the key locations, including the Pratzen Heights and surrounding villages, which would have been hard to fully appreciate on our own. The hotel pickup and comfortable transport made everything easy and stress-free. I also appreciated the balance between historical detail and a relaxed pace, including time for breaks and lunch. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history or looking for a unique day trip from Brno.

Seeing the caves was a wonderful experience. One that I will not forget anytime soon. Our guide was very good and very informative.
