Fantastic experience cooking and learning about Basque cuisine!
We had a fantastic time cooking with Mikel! It was a great experience learning about Gastronomia Bilbao and getting hands on experience with making chorizo, paellas, and cheesecake. Even though our group was only three people, we were excited to make and try a meat and seafood paella, and got to help prepare ingredients for each dish. Mikel also gave great food recs for our time in Bilbao. We would highly recommend this as a starter to your food journey in the Basque Country!

We took the pintxos course with friends, and it was a great addition to our Bilbao trip. Chef Mikel kept the class fun but also informative. Everyone got to participate, but Mikel made sure our efforts ended in delicious success. I felt the experience was a good value for the price and would recommend this class.

Fantastic experience!
All around great experience. Mikel is a fantastic host/instructor with a wealth of experience. He's incredibly personable and able to keep the class lively and interesting. Kitchen is spacious, clean, and well prepared. You do get to enjoy your creations at the end of the session, so you don't necessarily need a dinner reservation afterwards. All the 5-star reviews are well deserved.

Outstanding, 10* experience
I went to this cooking class with my mum & we had THE BEST time. Mikel (who spoke fluent english) made an enormous amount of effort to integrate the group & ensure we were all chatting away in no time.The drinks were flowing & the time flew by! Not only did I love the attention to detail with knife skills, we were given the history behind the dishes too & of course, we all got to sit together and eat all of them.Honestly, couldn't fault it. Hands down, our best experience in Bilbao. I would recommend doing this at the start of your trip as Mikel had so many good recommendations!

Excellent wine bar that truly deserves a visit. The menu offers a wide selection of wines, both local and international, perfect for making wonderful discoveries. The cuisine is refined, crafted with quality ingredients and great care.The establishment is located a bit away from the most touristy areas, but that also adds to its charm. The setting is warm and cozy, ideal for enjoying a pleasant moment. Special mention to the service, which is both professional, attentive, and very friendly.An excellent address that I recommend without hesitation to lovers of fine wines and gastronomy.

What Fun!
We had a wonderful time last night. We spent the evening learning how to make (and eat!) pinxos. Michal gives detailed instruction on how to make 4-5 different dishes, from how to use the knife to how long to know something is fully cooked. And, of course we drank wine and laughed a lot. To enjoy our hard work, we ate and were stuffed.

Fun and delicious
Mikel was a great instructor. I thought three and a half hours sounded super long for a cooking class but we used every minute of it with cooking , discussion, and if you laughs . Finished product was outstanding . I'm a cook at home and I learned a few things that will be useful.

This was a terrific class! We learned so much - from the origins of many Basque dishes to ways in which we can cook better at home. Best of all - at the end we enjoyed an amazing meal that we helped prepare! Along thr way, Mikel entertained us with his own personal stories of the restaurant industry, which was fascinating and inspirational. He’s an engaging teacher and clearly an excellent chef!
