My birthday weekend on Grand Bahama was memorable and thoroughly delightful solely due to Hida! She provided a five-star tour! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Hida is an excellent tour guide. She knows every fact about Grand Bahama! She is an extremely personable person. The tour totally revolved around me. I asked Hida if I could go to mass, on Sunday, as a start to the tour. That certainly was not an issue!The conch fritter and conch salad demos were informative, fun, and delicious! (I also had conch chowder another day. 👍👍) I also enjoyed our visit to The Bahamian Brewery.The tour to the east of the island was peaceful. We had plenty of time to swim in the pristine (not cold!) This was the most wonderful girls night we could have ever asked for! Seannette, Erika + team were so incredibly accomodating to our large group, and we had the best time learning about Bahamian culture and how to make snapper, cracked conch, plantains, and peas and rice!! We will be dreaming about the citrus sauce for a LONG time! This tour was so accomodating and wonderful - easy pickup and wonderful communication. My family already wants to do this again next year!!

My friend and I were picked up in downtown Nassau by the sister of "klassy chef," Seanette Cooper. She drove us to Seanette's home/catering kitchen on the east end of the island, so we got to see the embassy district on the way. Seanette, an award-winning professional restaurant chef in the past, greeted us with a coconut milk, cream and vodka welcome drink and cloud-like fried conch puffs. She had tenderized the conch and soaked fresh peas in advance. She lent us aprons and introduced us to the ingredients (e.g., tiny dark peas from her own pea tree) before demonstrating techniques and supervising us in their use. Oil popped and soft Bahamian music played in the background. She prepared a mixture of local red pepper and salt and used that along with fresh thyme and garlic and citrus in several dishes, and somehow prepared dipping sauces without ever turning her attention away from us. The late June night was very hot and it was good to take a break from the kitchen while the peas and rice cooked. We toured her back yard and saw what some of the ingredients looked like before they were harvested. The dinner menu included cracked conch, sweet plantains, peas and rice, and lightly fried red snapper topped with sauteed vegetables. Seanette had inquired about allergies and diet issues in advance; both of us could eat everything. We held hands and gave thanks for the food and the hands that prepared it and sat down to beautifully plated dishes. Everything was good, but nothing was spicey hot. As we chatted, we discovered that she had worked at a big hotel in Atlanta where my friend and I live. Her young daughter joined us and showed us some video of her recent dance recitals. With no room for dessert, Seanette gave us each a ripe,home-grown mango from her garden and drove us home, explaining that some of her work is described on Instagram in case we forget something. Polished and relaxed, she has thought of everything.

We tasted 4 different rums and after each rum we sampled a specialty chocolate. Our guide showed us how tobacco was grown and brought us to the room where the cigars were rolled. He left us there with the professionals to roll our own cigars. We each rolled 3 of our own with their help. We decided to stay and smoke one on their outdoor patio. We really enjoyed the entire experience!

My husband & I had a wonderful time!!! Hida was an excellent guide, she was knowledgeable of the island, & very personable!! We learned many interesting things, from landscaping, different sections & neighborhoods, & of course delicious food. AND the Beautiful blue water was the star!!!

The cigar company is a short walk from the cruise port. You have indoor and outdoor seating where you can enjoy a hand rolled cigar and a glass of whatever you'd like. Excellent friendly staff with a welcoming atmosphere. Very enjoyable.

We did the Rum tasting booked through Marriott experiences, and I wish we could give this 6 stars or picked the longer tour! We were so entertained and learned the history of the Fish Key West Charters while all in the comfort of the speakeasy. Rum was some of the best I have ever tasted and we had the best interactions with all the staff! Next time we go to the Bahamas we will do the longer tour for sure!

Mikey was the absolute best! We learned so much and was laughing the whole time!!! 10 out of 10 would go back again to hang out with Mikey and Jeff.

The class was excellent. Chef has the title AND the credentials to back it up. When our driver heard who was teaching our class, they instantly said how great of a cook she is. That was all the endorsement I needed.The food was excellent, and I think I could legitimately make this food at home, based solely on the instructions given in this class.The class is taught in Chef's home, so it is a bit less "formal" and "bougie" than some might want, but that should ABSOLUTELY NOT DETER you from booking this experience. T he food you prepare, alone, is worth the experience and your time.Book this class.

Seanette was absolutely lovely as was the whole experience. We were contacted ahead of time to arrange a pickup point, and when there were difficulties with parking and meeting, we were easily able to get in contact and find each other.It was a quick drive to Seanette's home, having landmarks and points of interest called out along the way. When we arrived we were greeted with a drink and quick bite of conch before getting into the cooking.Cooking has never been so seamless and enjoyable, and it was great to learn about the local cuisine while preparing the food. All the ingredients were fresh and the guidance was expertly catered to our experience level.After the food was done we sat for a meal together and had wonderful conversation. She even provided some local drinks for us to try on the house.At the end, she went above and beyond by driving us back to port personally, even with pit stops along the way to pick up local candy and rum cakes.We could not be happier with the experience which made our day in Nassau a highlight of our entire cruise.

Overall this was a great experience! A couple of hiccups, but certain circumstances led to them. Hida is a great guide with a wealth of knowledge of her island. I booked this excursion because it was "Personalized and Unique". Not a ship excursion, or one that we were pushed into once arriving at the dock. This was prearranged and it was "only" my husband and myself. When you do an excursion like this you can gain much more information and even be able to work with Hida to adjust the day to things "you" really want to do and not just settle for the exact times and places preassigned by other excursion companies. Hida will make you feel very comfortable and runs her licensed tour company as a exclusive independent excursion that caters to her bookings. Unfortunately, Margaritaville's 3 night weekend cruise, puts you in port on a Sunday. BAD BAD schedule on the Cruise Companies part. Leaving out of West Palm on a Friday and having Saturday as a sea day and Sunday is port day is not well thought out. Sunday in Grand Bahama is their religious day and everything is closed and the sidewalks are rolled up. If the schedule was switched between Saturday and Sunday the tourists would be able to experience so much more the island has to offer. Also the change would bring more revenue to the island. With that being said, a few places we did visit included the Lighthouse, a new Art Exhibit of local artists, Dorsets Conch experience on the beach and a stop at a local restaurant for some conch fritters. We enjoyed the places we did see, but we were disappointed in the things we missed out on. I HAVE REBOOKED with Hida for a repeat of the same weekend cruise, cruising this time with a friend, and we will be adjusting the excursion sites and schedule to be even more personal to our wants and needs. I'm looking forward to ironing out the details with Hida soon and will repost again after the second time around. AGAIN, IF YOU WANT TO BE WITH ONLY YOUR PARTY AND CHOOSE YOUR DAY- BOOK HIDA! **This is not a paid advertisement! lol

Hida was a fantastic host for a wonderful day where she showed us the Garden of the Groves (she was so knowledgeable about the history of this location!), several local spots for shopping and local food purchases such as the bakery (recommend the Coconut Tart and their fresh bread rolls!), local farmers market, the brewery, and the market where we learned from Brenda how to make our own conch fritters! The day ended at a beautiful beach with great food. I highly recommend this tour as the host is a local, knew SOOOO much history about the Bahamas and tailors your experience to you and your family/frienda. We loved it!

Great experience learning about the art of rolling cigars and the importance of selecting specific leaves on the tobacco plant for flavor. The employees were knowledgeable and friendly.

More than expected... told them they need to update their website information. We had tour of the cigar factory and history... unexpectedly we were taught how to roll our own cigars and got to keep 3 of them each. The 9 different rums and chocolate tasting was fun and very informative, even brought out a couple of extra rums to sample.
