Klaipeda Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Martin was engaging and knowledgeable. He explained the history of Klaipeda and he showed us the sites he was describing when talking about buildings that had disappeared. I especially appreciated the personal anecdotes (his and other people’s) about experiences in the past. And I loved my post card!

Martynas was prompt and very engaging on our tour. He shared many historical details with pictures and narrative; just what we expected from this informative tour. He explained with words and pictures how bombings and communist rule had changed this lovely town. Highly recommend if you are interested in history.

This was a perfect excursion for us. We were able to do a physical activity while learning about the history and area. Loved it.

My partner and I had a wonderful day in Curonian Spit! We had a perfect combination - stunning views, great weather and a knowledgeable tour guide.

Very unique experience with knowledgeable and kind guides- and blokart world champions! It was such a fun day out on the beach doing a new activity for us.

The tour began with a short ride to the first shoreside town and a walk through Witches Hill for about an hour. Then another short ride to the dead dunes and a trek through the sand to the ocean side with views. Then another short ride to view the live dunes from atop a hill. Then we opted to accept the offer of a $15 Euro boat ride where you get amazing views of the town and dunes from the water. Our guide Artur was awesome and encouraged us to try some local smoked fish at the pier. Then we rode back to our cruise ship from there. It was a lovely day and learned alot about the area. Just be aware of the physical walking involved. This is not a tour for people with mobility issues.

Amazing experience. Crosses everywhere. Powerful feelings, Its really worth to go there with or without guide. We went alone but on the way we found the history online and got the idea about this hill. Well done to the community

It was an exciting and wonderful experience to sail the Blokart along the beach. We had brilliant wind. Along the route, we even spotted a seal lying on the beach. Everything was well organised – from the meeting point to the briefing, and the photos and videos of the trip. The equipment is top-notch and I can highly recommend this trip.

A lovely afternoon with a knowledgeable guide in beautifully crafted canoes. Janis gave us a great afternoon would highly recommend this way of seeing the town.

Great introduction to the history and architecture of Klaipeda. Our guide Kristina was thoroughly knowledgeable and had a great dry sense of of humor.

We booked this as an excursion from the cruise port. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to tour the missile base before the large groups arrived. Highly recommend this tour if you hope to avoid the large tour bus cruise crowds. It was well worth it for us!

Guide was friendly, personable and very knowledgeable about the area. He moved at our pace. He kept good watch on our time for return to ship. Entrance into Cold War Museum and Amber Museum is an extra charge but very reasonable. Very nice to be ahead of the tour buses in the museum.
