Absolutely loved the Mou Waho Island Cruise and Guided Nature Walk! This was such a beautiful and unique experience and definitely one of the highlights of our time in Wanaka.We chose to do the walk self-guided on the way up, which gave us plenty of time to explore at our own pace, and then joined the group for the walk back down. Our guide/skipper was fantastic — very friendly, knowledgeable and easy-going, and really added to the experience.The island is absolutely beautiful, and the scenery throughout the walk is simply magic. You absolutely must make it to the top lookout! The views are incredible and are 100% worth the walk up. Seeing the alpine lake surrounded by mountains is something we won’t forget.The cruise across to the island was also fantastic, with stunning scenery the whole way. It was the perfect combination of nature, wildlife, beautiful views and a little adventure.Such a memorable experience and definitely something we would recommend to anyone visiting Wanaka! 🌿🏔️🚤

Local guide who knew heaps about the area and environment. It was relaxed, informative and enjoyable. We loved the mix of fast jet ride alongside the forest walk.

We had a rather bouncy ride over to the island (there was quite a stiff breeze which made the lake a tad choppy). However, the sun was shining and our excellent guide led us on a lovely walk to the summit, pointing out things of interest en route. We were then provided with a welcome cup of tea and a biscuit. The island is being replanted with native trees and, on the way down, we helped plant a sapling, which was a really nice touch. Definitely recommend this trip.

The real treasure find was the tour guide/skipper Tom/Tim ( can't quite remember his name) Impressive knowledge of the geology of the area, local history and the ecosystems, plants and wildlife. The cruise was smooth, the walk was not too difficult, and the view was breathtaking

Had a fantastic time. Enjoyed the cruise but the walk on the island with the guide was excellent. Eco tours are the only guides that are allowed on the island. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the ecology of the island. They do a huge amount of indigenous tree planting and are effectively the islands custodians. As part of the tour you get to plant a tree.

Very cool trip, would do it again

The tour was amazing. The boat ride to the island was comfortable and we learned a lot about the lake and surrounding land along the way. Our guide during the walk was great as well. The trail was slightly steep at times but definitely doable as there was a grandmother doing it with ease. The views atop the lookout were spectacular. This is a must book. Tip: The walk could be done in trainers but you may prefer shoes with traction especially if it rained recently.

Wow, getting to experience the private views on this property coupled with the fascinating stories we got from our guide made this a special day. We loved how connected we felt to the land and the outdoors having the trail to ourselves all day. And the best part was sitting down for lunch with our guide, Neil, and hearing about when he climbed Mount Cook, his prior roles of owning a farm and being a Shepard, and learning more about NZ life. Cannot recommend this day excursion enough and our new goal in life is to live like Neil 🫶☀️.

This trip was amazing ! I saw the Facebook post with Guide Ben explaining the trip and booked right away. Once we arrived Jo picked us up gave us the ride to the location and then Ben took over. We were not disappointed as this trip far exceeded our expectations. I would do this again unreal !

Highly recommended for anyone visiting Wanaka! And so much fun too! You not only go deep into Mt. Aspiring National Park via the river, but also stop for a short and easy hike where you’ll learn about the natural history of the area. Our tour guide was professional, very knowledgeable, and friendly and personable. We hope to redo this jet boat tour in the future!

Fantastic trip, extremely knowledgeable guide Tim, made it awesome. Knew heaps of interesting facts about wildlife and nature making it a great experience. STUNNING scenery, definitely worth it if you have some spare time in Wanaka.

Jamie, our Captain and Nature Guide, provided a pleasant and informative trip to Mou Waho island on a beautiful Saturday morning. There was ample time on the island and plenty of photo opportunities. Jamie was gracious and offered to be a professional photographer, even incorporating a trick pano shot. Highly recommend.
