Top Marrakech Hiking & Camping

What an amazing experience! Our guide Ismail was excellent, one of the best guides we’ve had in all our travels. Our experience includes breakfast with a Berber community, we then went on to have coffee next to a beautiful stream, a visit to a Berber home and an authentic Berber Moroccan lunch. If anyone is thinking of booking this, take it from me and do it! I don’t usually leave reviews but after this one I had to! Highly recommended.

What an experience. Worth every penny! Super guide Ismail! Friendly, funny, entertaining and knowledgeable. The Berber breakfast and lunch were authentic and wonderful.

we were collected from out hotel at the specified time, visited an argon oil and botanic garden site and was provided with a berber breakfast. we then went by minibus to park in the Atlas mountains and then walked to the Paradise Valley site. It is quite a trek to the paradise valley area but well worth it. We swam in the water there but be warned that the rocks are extremely slippery and it is very difficult to get out of the water. We then trekked back to the minibus which took about 20-25 minutes in very hot temperatures. We thoroughly enjoyed this half day adventure and would recommend but you need to wear trainers or strong walking sandals. Very good value for money.

We have been on countless trips via Cool Destinations around the world: this one is a Gem & a definite Must Do! You can do this cheaper & in a group but this particular tour can provide a highly unique & memorable lifetime experience. We found this such an authentic & memorable Moroccan adventure, that had so many incredible experiences which we would like to take the time to share with our fellow travellers. Please stay with us through this ‘extended’ review, so that you can get a sense of why we are so impressed!Ismail picked us up on time with a very positive & happy outlook: he clearly loves his work. We chatted freely in English & French while driving along. Our first stop was at a Argan Oil women’s co-op where our host Laima welcomed us: we met some elders who were baking bread & making the oil: WOW! We then sat down for a morning Moroccan snack with mint tea: gorgeous! Even though we couldn’t speak Berber or Arabic we all had a cheerful time together. There was no pressure to buy anything: they were just happy that we had an open mind & took the time to interact with them.Next, Ismail took us to a beautiful stream where an expresso coffee for both of us was delivered to our table, where we enjoyed the moment. At no time throughout the day did we have to reach into our pocket for Moroccan dirham.From there we drove through the first & second of the Atlas Mountains Five valleys. On the third, he stopped the vehicle & invited us to walk the rest of the way to the next valley: here we were introduced to our local guide Yassine. He took us to a local Berber home where we spent time having a wonderful interaction with a family including the farm animals. He also showed us a very old walnut tree, where we ate fresh walnuts.For the next hour we walked up the dirt road chatting with Yassine: he pointed out interesting things & facts along the way. We also interacted with school children. Then we detoured off the road to a local home for lunch: we met the local sisters of Khadija & Aisha who served us a magnificent local meal of cous cous & tagine, plus other bits & pieces, on their rooftop: stunning!Next, we met our driver/guide Ismail and headed off in the vehicle where we enjoyed stunning views of the 4th & 5th valleys & the Atlas Mountains in the foreground. The commentary was fantastic & immersive.He then drove us back to our starting point in Marrakech, completing approximately 10 hrs together. In conclusion, we had great conversations, sharing of information and great day outside of the city of Marrakesh.For us, we rate this as a solid 5 out of 5: we sincerely thank all the individuals we met including the outstanding contribution of our two mentioned guides. We had a wonderful day trip to Atlas mountains. We had a wonderful guide, Sofyan, he did his best to show things on the way to Atlas mountains, helped us taking pictures during breakfast, lunch, coffee. He also took us to good gifts shops. He is very friendly and genuine person.

An really enjoyable full day, camel ride was amazing with some great photos learning about village life in the mountains was a fun and learning day loved it and the guide and driver were great too

Our guide was fantastic. He got us to paradise valley early in the morning which made all the difference as quickly became very crowded. The traditional breakfast was really lovely with fantastic views. The botanic gardens was really interesting and no hard sales which probably made me purchase more.

I really enjoyed this tour; I learned so much about Berber culture and ate some delicious authentic food. The guide was fantastic, so patient and knowledgeable. The hike was no joke- wear stable footwear and bring lots of water. Great experience, highly recommended.

It's a convenient way to see the atlas mountains. Great guide and an overall overall fun day. Wear good shoes.

Wow. Just wow. This was a fully immersive tour of the Atlas Mountains - it had a bit of everything. Our tour guide, Jamel, and guide on our hike, Saïd, were amazing.Climbing through mountains is not for the faint of heart, but we were in steady hands and our group made it through safely and with smiles all around.It was very nice to see a different part of the country and gain a better understanding of the culture than if we had only stayed in Marrakech. The beauty of the land combined with the kind hospitality of the people made for a memorable experience.

Great hike in the Atlas Mountains, exactly what itinerary said. As a group of 3 guys the hike was to a good level and we were happy that the focus was the walk. Would definitely do again and would recommend to anyone looking to get a good days hike in the Atlas Mountains. Mohammed the taxi driver was good fun and noor dean the hiking guide was great and accommodating.

It was so much. Camel trekk is really good and views are spectacular. Them camp itself is amazing and luxury. Breakfast and dinner are also good. Just sandboarding is difficult because sandboard is bit broken. It was amazing experience

Eshmail tour guide was so nice and took us up on the hills and we enjoyed

A well organised trip, that took you into the lives of the Berbre's. We where driven around the 5 valley's of the Atlas mountains with plenty of stops for pictures or just enjoying the view with an informative guide; including a stop for a small breakfast and another for coffee at ourika valley. The highlight, being a guided walked around a Berber village eating figs picked off the trees as we walked passed. Then up through the countryside past the irrigation systems to the family home of for a traditional lunch of Tagine with plenty to eat. Meeting the family; remember to take treats for the children I forgot but the guide was prepared.A very different trip and view of the Moroccan way of life.

I had a wonderful experience visiting Paradise Valley. It was a beautiful place and definitely worth visiting. Our driver and guide, Reda and Jawed, were very friendly, helpful, and professional throughout the trip. They made us feel comfortable and made the experience even more enjoyable. I really appreciated their hospitality and would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Paradise Valley. A great trip and a great experience!
