Top Limerick Outdoor Activities

Our guide, Trevor was great! He made good suggestions for sightseeing along the way to Cliffs of Moher. He escorted us around the Cliffs. Took time to share facts, take group photos, never making us feel rushed. He suggested a great place for lunch. He even made a stop for us to pick up some items at the grocery store before going back to our cottage rental. He was very pleasant to be around. Despite some rain and wind, he made sure our trip was memorable.

Trevor was extremely accommodating, adjusting to our schedule after we were delayed getting to Ireland. He drove four of us to the Cliffs of Moher and gave us lots of info about the towns we passed through on the way. He had many entertaining stories and was an all-around outstanding host. I can’t say enough about what a great experience we had!

What a great trip this was. There was an absolute downpour just before we hit the water but it didn't dampen our spirits. Harry was an excellent guide and made much of our 6 year old on her first time kayaking. She has been talking about it non-stop all weekend. A leisurely paddle around the city centre banks of the Shannon with some games and a few interesting facts about the local landmarks thrown in for good measure. Highly recommend doing this and seeing the city from a different perspective. Top marks lads!

Had a great afternoon kayaking with my son on the river with Nevsail. Our instructor, Harry, was excellent, a great tour guide.It's an excellent way to see the sights around Limerick City. Highly recommended.Will definitely be back!

We were so grateful we booked Trev for our tour because it didn't restrict our plans. We booked the Cliffs of Moher from Limerick and the welcome center closed, but the Cliffs were still open. A storm was coming in that afternoon so he got up early to drive us out there before any poor weather or winds hit. If we booked a non-private tour this wouldn't have been possible, so it was worth every penny. He then drove us around County Clare to see several castles, cute towns, a waterfall, and the Neolithic rock formations. We also had an excellent lunch at Durty Nelly's near Bonratty castle. We also drove through Lisdoovarna to see the famous match maker and also stopped by the perfumery. We were only mildly inconvenienced by some rain toward the end of the tour. I would definitely recommend him, he is mad craic. He also accidentally opened for Ed Sheeran once (ask him).

We did not go on this actual tour but did a custom tour with Trevor where one part was the cliffs. He’s amazing as he changed his normal tour to incorporate a place we really wanted to go. He’s super knowledgeable and shifted his times to our whims. Overall one of the best tour guides we have had in our many years of travel.

Myself and 3 booked the 1.5 hours kayaking on the river Shannon. The weather was excellent and we got to know all the history and facts about limerick city and surrounding areas from our guide Harry, he taught us about the siege of limerick, king johns castle, poor man’s kilkee, hell’s gates and the old Custom House. He was very thorough and well able to squeeze all of the information into the dedicated time frame. He even took photos out on the water of me and my family. 10/10 recommend. 1.5 hrs was plenty for us as it was our first time kayaking in quite a while and by the end our legs were like jelly.

We did the 1.5 hour kayak tour. Heads up (because we missed it), these are sit-on-top kayaks so your butt WILL get wet from the scupper holes. The water was great, so the rest of our bodies stayed dry. You’ll get a bit of history tidbits along with the ride. It was just the two of us and our guide Cahill, who was wonderful! An engineering student at UL, he was familiar with Limerick and enjoyable to talk to while taking in the scenes. He also offered to take photos of us with our phones. There’s a secure place for your belongings while you’re on the water. Entry and exit were from a dock. We had some extra time because of our small group, so we got to explore the Abbey River as well! 👍 👍

Trevor was great. A really nice guy who is knowledgeable, interesting and accommodating. We enjoyed the beauty of the Cliffs and the ride along the way.

Really enjoyable kayaking trip around Limerick, nice way to see the sights and city, and understand some of it's history. Harry was a great host!

We had great fun and a lovely active way of getting to see the city and a bit of the history. The guides were lovely and friendly and put us at ease.

We had an amazing day! Taking this private tour allowed us to travel back roads and see many more sights not assessable to the big buses. I highly recommend this tour.

I had such a great time. My guide Harry was really excellent. I use a wheelchair and he was very helpful and respectful making sure I had a great experience! If you do use a wheelchair I would just make sure you feel confident with transferring into a water vessel. I would absolutely recommend this trip and would definitely do it again if I come back to Limerick.

Would 100% recommend, Harry was a great guide and was super friendly, it was crazy to see the area from the water. We had a great time.

Kayaking on the Shannon was an amazing experience, peaceful and relaxing. Our guide Harry, seamlessly brought us up to speed and looked after us throughout the trip, he is a real Pro. We will Kayak again with Nevsail.
