Top Killarney Overnight Tours

We spent 12 days this August 2026 in Ireland. It was our first time in Ireland and it will not be our last! Our tour with Gerard Scott /Kilarney Guided Tours was the highlight of our trip. If you want to go to Ireland and have a visit filled with not only tourism but local flavor his tours cannot be beat! He worked closely with us to plan each of our days. One of the splendid things we did that was off the beaten path was a Killarney Bee Walk with the delightful Tim. Kilarneybeewalksand honey@gmail.com We visited this lovely farm and learned so much about the lifecycle of the honeybee. The tour finished with a honey tasting and fresh baked scones provided by his wife. A must do in the beautiful village of Killarney! Gerard drove us to all the sites and provided so much background and history about the lovely south west coast of Ireland. His warm nature and sense of humor made our daily excursions so much fun. He was so flexible and could really navigate those Irish roads with ease. He really made our trip one to never forget!

Our Ring of Kerry tour with Ted was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland! He was communicative, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about County Kerry and the Ring of Kerry.He was also such a great person to spend the day with — funny, easy to talk to, and full of interesting stories and fun facts. He took us to some amazing places, including Valentia Island, the Kerry Cliffs, and Kells Sheepdogs, along with plenty of other great stops.The whole experience felt personal and thoughtfully planned, and we really felt like we got to see the best of the Ring of Kerry. It’s clear that Ted genuinely cares about making the experience memorable for his guests. We’d recommend him to anyone visiting County Kerry. Five stars!

Gerard with Killarney Guided Tours, was an absolutely fantastic guide who went above and beyond for our family at every step of our trip. From our very first emails, I felt so grateful to have him in my corner. I was planning a trip for my parents and teenage kids with no idea where to begin, and Gerard helped shape the entire itinerary, from choosing tours to even advising us on the best airport. His guidance was invaluable.Since we didn’t have outside transportation, Gerard made sure we got to a grocery store when we arrived, took us to an amazing restaurant, and even arranged extra transportation so we could attend the Celtic Dancers Show. We felt like family from the start. He knew everyone in town, including the owners of our Airbnb, which made us feel even more at ease. And when we unexpectedly had to go to the hospital one night, Gerard answered all my questions and even swung by to pick us up from the hospital before our next tour.Beyond all of that, he is incredibly knowledgeable and brought Ireland to life for us. He guided us through Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle Peninsula, and the Cliffs of Moher with wonderful stops along the way. He showed us places we never would have found on our own, shared so much history, and gave us plenty of laughs.Ireland is stunning, but Gerard is the reason this trip became a cherished memory for our entire family. We cannot thank him enough for everything he did for us.

Shelia and Josh (our guide and our driver) made the trip! We were nervous to rent a car and drive this route, so we decided to take this tour instead and I'm SO glad we did! Shelia is a native of the area and she had so many anecdotes about the people in the area and their actual stories (like passing a tiny village house and telling us how many of them their were in that tiny house at the time, where they went from there, etc). She also sang us some Irish songs and recited some Irish sayings. She is so authentic and kind. We LOVED the stop to pet all the animals (including the lambs, horses, donkeys,etc) and the views were insane. 12/10. Would recommend to everyone!! I went with my senior parents and they adored it as well so it’s perfect for all ages.

Ted was a great host. He shared a lot of stories, history and took us to some amazing places! The Ring of Kerry exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling here for the first time. We are also glad we decided to not drive this ourselves….the roads are very windy and not having to drive gave everyone an opportunity to see the beautiful landscape.

Two wonderful days touring from Killarney with MaryG. Mary is a native of the area and has extensive geographic and historical knowledge. Several factors come together to make this a memorable great trip - Mary is patient, accommodating, and a good safe driver. Definitely would recommend her.

Mary G went above and beyond what was expected! She was patient with our individual needs and questions and was a wealth of knowledge. She taught us a lot about the history of Ireland as we were driving as well as the local expressions. She was very flexible and stopped if we needed to get something from the pharmacy or mail a postcard We gave her a general idea of what we wanted to see in the Killarney, ring of Kerry, Dingle, Galway areas, and we spent four full days with her She joined us for some of the areas while educating us on the details of the history and other times we went off on her own, and she waited for us to return from our hike or adventure, such as the cliffs of Moher We took a train from Dublin and she picked us up in Cork, took us to the woolen Mills and then over to Killarney, which is the area that she lives so she knows it very well She has a great sense of humor and a very comfortable car ! I had found her recommendations in a blog and in Cool Destinations. We were very pleased and felt very well taken care of! Highly recommend Mary G!

Niall Cleary at Best of Ireland Tours, is a wonderful tour guide! Our family toured Ireland with him for nearly a week, and we feel lucky to have found him. Niall is very knowledgeable and is happy to explain Irish customs, history, geography and just interesting facts that make your trip a richer experience. He's especially kind and considerate of his clients. He takes good care of you and knows every good place to eat lunch, grab a snack or use the restroom in Ireland! He’s also lots of fun and a delightful traveling companion - just talking and laughing with him as we rode in the van was one of the highlights of our trip.Niall’s planning process is thorough, with several pre-trip phone calls and good email communication. We gave him a very general idea of some places that we wanted to see, and from that he crafted an excellent detailed itinerary. He’s flexible and will make sure you see what you want to. He’s good at balancing the longer, busier days with occasional little breaks here and there so that you don’t feel over-scheduled. He’s also a responsible and reassuring driver.Highly recommend. My wife and I were looking for a small group or private tour of the Killarney area and stumbled onto these folks via internet searches and ChatGBT. What an incredible find!!! Extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. When trying to schedule our 1st day, we were going to take a taxi from the train station, drop our bags at the hotel, grab lunch, then meet for our tour. As soon as our guide, Girard, knew our plans, he immediately had us change our plans so that he would pick us up at the train station and allow for hotel check in and lunch before beginning the tour. Over a 2 day period, Girard provided us with an abundance of local and Irish history, recommended excellent food options throughout the tour and allowed us to get to know his family. If you’re planning a visit to the Killarney area and are looking for a private guide, you will not be able to find a finer service. Even though we had our own vehicle, we booked two days with Killarney Guided Tours because we wanted to to get a local perspective as we soaked in the scenery. Gerard's tours were everything we hoped for and more. Gerard's easy going personality made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. His knowledge of the area and history helped us to get the most out of our visit to the area. As we visited in the van, he was able to get a grasp on the kinds of things we were interested. When he learned we were fascinated with some of the churches we had seen, he included a couple more and was able to give us background history on the significance of the church. Our trip to Blasket Island visitor's center told another story of Irish history that we had not heard before. As we drove, he would tell stories about the history of Ireland along with some of the folklore. There is no doubt that the money and time we spent with Gerard was well worth the investment.

Very long day but it was a good time. Ted knew everything and everyone and going to his island and seeing his home, where he grew up was lovely. It felt like we were visiting a long lost friend, we felt very cared for.

Just a lovely bunch of folks running this family owned business. We took two tours, on consecutive days, Ring of Kerry (with Denis) and Dingle / Slea Head (with Batt) and what a fabulous time we had. Great tour guides all around authentic the history and story telling. Highly recommend!

Batt was an amazing tour guide. Gave lots of great information along the ride including songs, history and poetry. Made various photo stops and never rushed the group back on the bus. Was very personable, offering to take photos and was super friendly !! Would highly recommend this group tour and Batt as your guide !

I would highly recommend the private tour with Ted Kennedy for anyone who wants to see the Ring of Kerry. Ted knew so much about every place we went. had great stories and everyone along the way knew him! The tour was fantastic and he took us to places we also asked for as well as places that other tours probably don't go or have access to. It was one of the best parts of our 2 week vacation in Ireland!
