My 13 y/o and I did this excursion and had a blast! Given the heat, we decided to skip the last leg of hiking as that seemed to be a bit too much for my son. He was engaged for 4 hrs and that was good enough for me!Marco, our guide, was knowledgeable, conversational and kind. We learned so many new things and enjoyed some fruit and almonds from the trees along the way. Our guide knew people in the remote villages and we had the opportunity to connect with them.The only downside is that we had anticipated the lavender field being in bloom. Given it was all harvested in July and we were there in August, we weren’t able to see the fields in the way we anticipated. That being said, even without that visual component, the tour and experience far exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend to anyone with a hunger to learn about and experience the region’s agricultural history -hands on- as long as there is the ability to walk on a slightly rocky trail ( uphill and down) for a minimum of 3+ hrs.

This was a great way to familiarise yourself with Hvar Town and learn a bit about the history of the town. It also allows you to do it at your own pace, make stops and is easy to use.

I went for this walking tour during my recent trip a month ago. I explored some of Hvar’s most beautiful spots. I am happy that I was able to spend some extra time at a local art gallery and learned about the island’s history, architecture and traditions. I also appreciate the personal touch. We stopped at a cozy café for a quick coffee and heard stories about local life, which added to the experience. The guide also shared some helpful tips for exploring Hvar on my own afterward.

Best of all tours at Hvar. The tour guide, Marko was very informative and smart. I would recommend bringing a backpack because there are essential oils to buy during the tour.

We were driven around the island in ares not generally seen by the water loving visitors. We had a local guide who grew up on the island and provided a meaningful experience to the land and people of Hvar. We learned about the importance of the land and island and how it changed. Plus we had a FANTASTIC lunch in the same village that his mother was raised. It was a great treat!

Don’t forget your headphones. Love that the gps feature knows when to start the commentary and waits until you arrive at each point. You can pause, rewind and follow the map. English is good & easy to listen to.

This walking tour was a decent introduction to the island, The guide was friendly and provided interesting insights into the local history and traditions. The tour covered key landmarks, making it a great way to explore the island. Overall, it was a fantastic way to experience Hvar.

HVAR is a small beautiful Old Town and a tour really aided us to know the history and get a feel for the past and present culture.

This was an excellent way to explore Hvar. Vedrana is an outstanding guide, very knowledgeable, gave us some great recommendations, and made our tour very enjoyable! The private tour was definitely a perfect choice for our group. Additionally, our ship had some issues getting us to the Tour on time and Vedrona was very accommodating to make it all work out! Highly recommended

Urska is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She will comfortably drive you through most of the island with sightseeing, informative stops including Staringrad (historic beautiful bayside village), a thorough wine tasting at a local, family run winery (Vina Caric @ Konoba) and a delicious local cousine lunch @ family run restaurant in another small village, Konoba Zbondini.

For my mom’s birthday, I planned a special day at Poje Hvar, and it turned out to be more magical than I could have imagined, thanks to Kornelija. From the moment we arrived at her UNESCO-protected family estate in Stari Grad, Kornelija’s warmth and hospitality made us feel like old friends rather than guests.She guided us through every step of making traditional Croatian salsa—a flavorful and versatile sauce we paired with octopus and crispy fried polenta cakes. It was such a heartfelt gesture that brought my mom to happy tears.We also tasted Kornelija’s homemade Rakija, olive oil, and goat cheese, alongside wines from her neighbor, all of which showcased the flavors and traditions of Hvar. By the end of the day, we didn’t just leave with full stomachs—we left with full hearts and a newfound connection to this beautiful place and its people.If you’re looking for an experience that’s authentic, intimate, and utterly unforgettable, Poje Hvar with Kornelija is it. Hvar is a real open-air museum, surrounded by beautiful buildings, museums, terraces and shops. There is a relaxed atmosphere.
