This was a highlight of our entire Peruvian vacation! Alonso is an amazing guide who taught us so much about food in Arequipa as well as the city itself. We were honored to meet him and experience this delicious food. Thank you Alonso for an unforgettable experience!

We had a fabulous afternoon with Alonso who is an excellent guide. Make sure you go hungry as there is course after course and we ate pretty constantly for 3 hours. Went to the market then to a number of different restaurants, all interesting and all delicious. Our group tour was just the two of us! Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful tour with Alonso. We needed a vegetarian and regular food tour and he did outstanding! Lots of information, history and culture. He was great with questions and suggestions and would highly recommend for fun and amazing food tour!

My partner and I had a wonderful time with Alonso on this food tour. We visited several lovely restaurants trying some local delicacies and learning about the history of Peruvian cuisine. The food was sensational and we even had a trip to the local market to try some fruits and learn about the ingredients - everyone was very friendly. Alonso was super knowledgeable and fun to be around - we learned about the food, some local sites, and some local history as well at eating some wonderful and new food. Would definitely recommend this tour - a lovely way to spend and afternoon in Arequipa!

Alonso our guide for this trip was wonderful! He was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We had a great time at the local market trying several new fruits and learning about Peruvian vegetables. Alonso told us many interesting facts about the city as we walked from restaurant to restaurant. We tried several popular dishes at each of the three restaurants he took us to from appetizers to main dishes to desserts and even several drinks. We would highly recommend this tour and Alonso.

Such a great way to learn about a city, so much more fun than a regular walking tour. You get to learn all About the city as well as so many different types of foods you never would have tried without doing a food tour. Trying different fruits at a local market was so good. Then visiting local authentic restaurants to try the most delicious foods was such a highlight. Doing all this with a really friendly guide makes this such a great experience.

I have been to Arequipa many times and have taken many of the tourists tours. I had not done a food tour and when friends mentioned they were going, I knew this was right up my alley. Alonso led us on a fabulous food tour of the city -full of history and interesting details. I will highly recommend this adventure.

Alonso did a fantastic job introducing us not only to the regional food of Arequipa but also sharing some history of the city and country and answering all of our many questions. The tour was well organized, thoughtful, informative! Well worth the cost, I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about food and culture in Arequipa.

We enjoyed it so much! Everything went well, Alonso was great company. We learned a lot about history from the pre-Incas to recent events... Peru's cuisine is very rich, so each dish has a story... that merges with the country's history. We learned and tasted great dishes. Super experience, I highly recommend it, book it!!!

If you want to discover authentic Peruvian food and some very tasty drinks combined with some history about the beautiful city of Arequipa, don't miss this tour! Arequipa Food Tour combines food and walking tour. Alonso was a super nice, knowledgeable and fun guide who speaks very good English. He makes you feel comfortable and is responsive to your interests. At the Mercado San Camilo he showed us the many varieties of Peruvian potatoes and other products used in Peruvian dishes and made us taste different exotic fruits. The restaurants we visited are the most typical of Arequipa's cuisine and the food was delicious and of very good quality. Alonso also knows a lot about drinks, especially about the production of pisco and its history. Chicha de Guiñapo and Chilcano de tumbo are drinks that we discovered on this tour and were happy to order again later. All in all, we had a very enjoyable afternoon. The tour is 100% worthwhile.
