Zimbabwe Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Wonderful excursion! Left on time. Lots to drink and the food was excellent! The staff was friendly and attentive. Beautiful sunset. We only wish it left a bit sooner so that there was more daylight. Once it got dark, there was nothing to see. Still, a wonderful night on the river.

One will be pick up from hotel, help with crossing the borders, experienced guides and great time. We stayed in Zimbabwe and had been picked up from the hotel. The taxi drivers does not cross the border but they are wonderfly organised and helpful with customs. So, from Zimbabwe, over Zambia to Botswana, this people knows what they are doing. Also, the boat sail and lunch were amazing.

We were in a group of 2 families and were welcomed by Kudzie who had to juggle the itineraries of both groups. We appreciated his all round traits as he also had to be a wildlife guide and we contacted him frequently on whatsap and got restaurant recommendations and supermarket stops from him.

Amazing experience. We were collected on time by Thuba our guide. He was kind, wark and professional. Additionally Thuba was knowledgeable and approachable. We were in a small group and all got equal attention and support from him. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. On the Zambian side we were guided by Mike who equally brilliant.Admission fees are reasonable and matched up with the services we got.

I have white water rafted in Italy, Albania, Slovenia, Iceland and Nepal. The Zambezi River was the best I have ever done. I can't recommend it enough. I also recommend Wild Horizons.

Once we were ready to go we had Eric the pilot and only me and my friend so was comfortable and was amazing, the flight was great and saw elephants and the falls from every angle. This is a must see from the air . Got amazing video but little disappointed as the end of flight photos not on it. But did not ruin the trip or experience .

This was a great evening. The bus collecting lots did take a while but was worth it in the end. We arrived and was quickly shown upstairs to a great relaxing comfortable chair area. With a welcome drink. Very nice.Then we choose our meal of choice, from the 4 courses. Plus asked what drink we had, I did not realise but the one I booked came with complimentary drinks. Wow. They did not stop flowing, with a wide choice. I can recommend the falls gin, and African pinotage.We sailed towards the falls, then around a very latge Iland in the middle of the Zambezi. Stunning. One side was zambi, the other Zimbabwe. Truly stunning, we spotted lots of Rhino, apparently a Croc (I am sure it was log) and other wildlife.The sunset was awesome, sat back enjoy a drink with such a gorgeous sunset. Although lots of people on the boat it did not appear busy or rushed. Just brilliant.After sunset we were asked to move downstairs to the dinning area, still outside, and had the most wonderful dinner. Still drinks flowing.We had the best/most relaxing time for our last night in this amazing country. A brilliant way to end that part of our holiday. I can not recommend this enough. I hope you all enjoy it as much as me and my wife did.

100% amazing. Every single aspect of the days adventure was simply fantastic. The briefing, the guides friendliness and helpfulness, the actual rafting, the walk out and how the guides helped those who needed it, the lunch, the people who were on the trip. The fun!!!! Absolutely the best adventure we've had in Zimbabwe. We booked through Shearwater - that I wouldn't recommend as they don't run it anymore, WH do it and so should have gone direct. Well done WH

Lots of different companies offer late afternoon/sunset cruises on the river, where you may see hippos, crocodiles, birds etc. as you float along, enjoying beverages & surprisingly good snacks. Relaxing, with beautiful views.

Wonderful experience on the Malachite with very tasty food (choice for starter, main and dessert) and great service. Gorgeous setting and very relaxing

A very well-organised tour. Group was only 5 people, while the guide was very knowledgeable, especially on the Zimbabwe side. Logistics, despite crossing an international border, was smooth. In high-flow season I recommend wearing a waterproof jacket, while raincoat rentals are provided, they won't stop you from getting wet. Also bring along a pair of slippers. I left my jacket in the car, but they very kindly delivered it to my accommodation at the end of the day. Thank you Mike!

It was fun, no rush and very insightful. Our guide had lots of experience. Well spoken English. Took pics for us. And gave us great advice. Also kept us safe because it was very slippery. Highly recommend We stopped at all view points and the big tree. It was great!

Trevor our guide was amazing. He was very knowledgable about the area. Warned us of high risk wet areas and also had a joke with us. Most importantly he never rushed us around, we did the tour at a great liesurely pace. Intondolo was also a pleasure to deal with.

Africa Zim travel had excellent communication and organization. They were the agents that connected us with Kalahari tours in Chobe. We had an incredible experience. We did the 3 Day 2 night safari trip.We would not hesitate to return and do it again. Everything was taken care of. The guide, Caleb, was very knowledgeable and kind. The team who prepared the tents and all the meals did a great job. Charity arranged all the transport on the Zim side and was very punctual. We thought this trip was extremely good value for money when you calculate everything that is included and involved.We saw lots of lions, elephants, hyena, wild dogs hunting; we saw everything! The two included boat trips excellent too, getting us close to all the animals on the shoreline and in the water.We will return and use this company again we highly recommend them.

The whole experience was wonderful! From pick-up/drop-off, to crossing the border into Botswana, to the actual safari itself, everything was seamless. Cobra, our safari guide, was excellent. We saw so many cool animal sightings that day, it was easily our favorite day of our trip.
