Had a fantastic trip to Trakai with Jim. He’s a great guide — charming, laid-back, knowledgeable, and clearly someone who genuinely loves what he does and loves sharing Lithuania with visitors. The whole day felt relaxed and fun, and everyone in our group seemed to have a great time. Highly recommend Jim if you’re visiting Vilnius and want to experience a bit more of Lithuania!

Great half day trip!
Great small group trip and highly recommend it! Jim was a great guide - giving us a lot of information about about Lithuanian culture, history, as well as a fun playlist in the van! Was very relaxing tour and had plenty of time to explore at each of the stops. You had an option of staying with the group or venturing out on your own! Great option for solo travelers. Ačiū Jim!!!!

A Memorable Trip
First of all, huge kudos for not cancelling the trip - I was the only traveler that day, so it was essentially a private tour on a small-group price! The meeting place was easy to locate - it's actually not within the square, but just outside where the city sightseeing tour bus usually departs. My guide found me easily. The iffy thing that day was the weather - a huge windstorm was forecast to hit in the late afternoon, and it was rainy early in the morning. Somehow, our luck held and we never really experienced any rain or very high winds. First stop was the memorial park, a sombre, peaceful forest that hid an atrocious history. The atmosphere after the rain was appropriately grey and peaceful - an uneasy sort of tranquility especially in the context of the site's history. The Hill of Angels was next, and that was fun! Various sculptures and statues made for interesting photography, showcasing the woodcarving traditions of Lithuania. It was not crowded (probably because of the wind warnings), and I had a great time there. Finally, Trakai Castle. It was quite an interesting place with its medieval history and geography, and we spent the most time here - about 2 hours. We explored the aristocratic and military rooms, the various exhibits (can be overwhelming if time is short, so I suggest picking the most interesting ones and stick with them). Lunch was on my own, and I had one of the yummy Kibinai pastry stuffed with lamb. Sitting with a warm lunch by the lakes of Trakai was really nice.My guide dropped me back into Vilnius by 3:30 pm, still rain-free but the winds were picking up. I thanked her graciously for her time and knowledge, and was very happy with the entire trip.

Superb historical walk
It is very well done, easy to download, easy to use, and the information is well presented. The map helps us move around the city and takes us to interesting spots where I would not have gone. Plan for more time than indicated because there are things to see and visit along the route.

Good Tour
Pickup was confusing because of street closures for an event but the guide found us. It was only 3 of us in the group. The guide was very good, but a little hard to understand at times, which was fine because English was not her first language. She was very knowledgable and explained everything well. It was a very good tour.

Hot Air Balloon Ride in NemencineChris_C, Aug 2026
Make this a part of your bucket list
This certainly was a very memorable experience - as you would probably expect! The pilot and the rest of the team are very experienced and professional, so I felt I was in good hands. The balloon ride itself was thrilling and the pilot sometimes rotated the basket so you could get a view in all directions. I also enjoyed the champagne with my fellow travellers afterwards. With three people in each compartment, I did feel a bit squeezed in, making it challenging to take photos and videos, but such are the economics! Although the temperature at maximum altitude (about 800m) was hardly any cooler than at ground level, I would recommend covering up because of the gazillions of mosquitoes in the fields, which is to be expected (the pilot kindly provided insect repellent). Overall, it was a very worthwhile experience and I would definitely encourage anyone to make it a part of their itinerary.

Wonderful Guide, Unforgettable Experience!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐We had a wonderful experience with our guide during our time in Lithuania! We spent two days together, and she truly made our visit so much more meaningful and enjoyable. On our first day, we did a combination walking and driving tour of Vilnius. We explored the beautiful Old Town and also ventured beyond the historic center to see Soviet-era buildings and learn more about Lithuania’s more recent history. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much history and context in a way that was interesting, easy to follow, and never overwhelming. On our second day, we visited Trakai, which was another highlight of our trip. Throughout both days, she was pleasant, calm, patient, and simply a pleasure to have around. Traveling as a family, we especially appreciated her relaxed approach and her ability to make the experience enjoyable for everyone. We came away feeling that we had learned and experienced so much more of Lithuania than we ever could have on our own. We absolutely loved our time with her and would not hesitate to book with her again. We highly recommend her to anyone visiting Vilnius and Lithuania!

Husky Trekking in Natural Park near VilniusDawn_L, Aug 2026
Since the park is far...
Since the park is far outside of the city in a rural area, we added the transportation option. Kiryll, our driver, was fabulous. We enjoyed talking with him on the drive and learned so much from him. Once we arrived, we played with the husky puppies before learning commands to use with the adults on our trek. It was about 2.5 miles, which was the perfect length. Great activity!

Great experience
We had great weather and wonderful "companion dogs." We were also able to meet and pet all the others there. The path is beautiful, and thanks to the harness for the dogs, I did not experience any back pain during the walk (which I usually always get). The pickup was super punctual.
All in all, a fantastic experience!

A must for history buffs
If you love history then this is for you. Kristina, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable. Getting to visit the crypt was very special. I wish the Lithuanian all the best to finally be able to locate Vytautus and place him to rest in his crypt. I was so excited to report back to my Lithuanian (Aus born) husband about this wonderful experience. Now to go down more rabbit holes about Lithuanian history

Just Excellent
We had a great tour of Vilnius, Domas our guide has a great knowledge, the tour brought the history of Vilnius to life and Domas is a natural story teller - we had a mixture of e-scooters that met our different needs and even the slight rain didn’t dampen the experience - pub stop most welcome too.
