Rome Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

So I'm a week or so late writing this review, but I couldn't let it pass without saying how wonderful our tour guide Ruben with Gallo tours was. My sister and I were in Rome for a couple days prior to our cruise and decided since it was so hot to do a night time tour of Rome become leaving the next morning. I'm not exaggerating when I say that with all the amazing things we saw in Rome, this tour was the absolute highlight. Ruben was 100% the very best ever! He picked us up at our hotel, which made it so easy. He not only took us to all the sights you think you should see in Rome, but also took us to neighborhoods and off the tourist trail locations. We mentioned stopping for a Gelato, not expecting him to buy it for us, but he did at his favorite Gelato place in Rome. It was amazing. He also stopped by his favorite little café/ bar and bought us a delightful Aperol Spritzer. Again, totally unexpected. We saw and learned so much and had a wonderful time doing it. By the end of the tour, we felt like family. Could not recommend more highly. Also, at the end of the night I realized I left my phone in the golf cart. Ruben brought it all the way back to our hotel. Fantastic experience we will NOT soon forget.

The Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s are incredibly beautiful, but also very crowded. It was important to have a knowledgeable senior guide like Iman to make this a memorable experience.

The pasta and tiramisu class was great. April was such a great instructor.

We had an excellent experience on our golf cart tour of Rome! Alex and Armando were terrific guides — friendly, knowledgeable, and so much fun to spend the tour with. They made it easy to see so much of the city while sharing interesting history and stories along the way.The little touches made the experience even better. They provided us with water throughout the tour and even treated us to gelato, which was such a nice surprise.This was such a fun and relaxing way to explore Rome, and we felt very well taken care of from start to finish. We would absolutely recommend this tour, and especially Alex and Armando, to anyone visiting Rome!

Truly amazing... if you have the ability to skip the line? DO IT. We walked by hundreds of people waiting to get in. Its an expensive tour, but worth every penny. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and answered every question we threw at him. I will recommend this tour to anyone that asks about the Vatican.

Milo was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide, and made many stops for us to take photos of notable landmarks. We enjoyed the tour very much!

We had Peter as our tour guide and he was excellent! He shared all kinds of Roman history with us in 2.5 hours that we didn’t know about even after months planning our trip. Plus got to see places in Rome we didn’t even have on our itinerary. This was the best part of our trip to Rome!
