This was one of the best travel experiences that my wife and I have had! Roman was extraordinarily helpful; he was very flexible with arranging the time of our departure. He provided a wonderful curated tour of the history, culture, and sites of Moravia. In eight hours, we heard about history, visited village squares, had two chateau visits, and a wine tasting. Roman is congenial and gregarious. You can’t go wrong with this tour!

If you are planning to visit the Austerlitz battlefield, hire Helena Svedova — she is, without question, the best battlefield guide you will find. I engaged Helena for a private tour in June 2026 as a solo traveler, and the experience exceeded every expectation I had going in. Helena's command of English is excellent, and her manner is warm and genuinely accommodating. She works with a well-developed standard route that reflects real expertise, but she never treats it as a rigid script. When I asked to adjust the plan, explore additional areas, or double back to study particular spots more closely, she adapted immediately and enthusiastically — the sign of a guide who is there for the client, not just the itinerary. As a retired military officer who has taught military history, I arrived having already studied the battle in depth, and I came away impressed. Helena goes well beyond the standard tour experience. When unharvested crops blocked the direct approach to the Vinohrady summit — the lower of the two Pratzen Heights, marked by its prominent cross — she parked as close as the terrain allowed and then walked with me for more than half a mile so we could reach the site anyway. Elsewhere, she skillfully drove her own vehicle over unpaved back trails and farm paths to cover the full sweep of the battlefield, giving me access to ground that most visitors never see. Her dedication starts before the tour even begins. In advance of my trip, Helena tracked down, obtained, and mailed me a topographic map of the battlefield so I could prepare and study the terrain before arriving in the Czech Republic. That level of proactive care is rare, and it made the tour itself far richer. Even the small touches added to the day: Helena's dog joined us on the tour, a friendly companion who added a memorable moment of levity when he took off after a young deer that bolted from the cornfield as we made our way back to the road. The Austerlitz battlefield has changed remarkably little since 1805, and there is no better person to guide you across it than Helena Svedova. Her knowledge, flexibility, work ethic, and genuine enthusiasm for giving visitors the fullest possible experience make her an easy and enthusiastic recommendation for anyone planning to explore this historic ground.

This was an excellent tour of the battlefield with BRNOguide Helena. My 14 year old wanted to see Austerlitz and this tour enabled us to get a really good sense of the terrain, tactics, personalities and evolution of the battle as well as context and local knowledge.

It does require a bit of walking and up and down stairs. This was not a problem for ourselves as the guide kept a good pace. Our driver and guide Helena was fantastic. Before and after the caves she sowed some beautiful churches in the small towns going to and back.

The trip was wonderful, and we had a fantastic experience! Our guide, Helen, was extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. She stayed with us for almost the entire day and provided us with lots of interesting information about the caves, as well as the history and culture of Brno. Her explanations made the trip much more enjoyable and meaningful. We truly appreciated her enthusiasm and professionalism. Highly recommended!

It is a necessary experience to reconnect as a society, which reminds us of the hard times of past eras but which threaten to return.

Great experience for son's 21st birthday. For an autistic military nerd, Prague has lots of points of interest. This was definitely a must, very rough riding fun. A problem with the pick up but Martin sorted it out & stayed to fulfil the experience.

When I returned to China and transferred these photos from my camera, I found myself reminiscing about the wonderful time I spent with Rost’a in South Moravia. Rost’a is an incredibly friendly and easy-going guide. The itinerary he arranged was not only filled with beautiful landscapes but also highlighted the unique local culture and heritage of the region. Although it was an extremely hot day, Rost’a never showed any impatience. Instead, he remained enthusiastic throughout the journey, sharing everything he knew about the history, culture, and interesting stories of the places we visited. This trip was much more than just sightseeing — it was a meaningful experience that allowed me to truly connect with the beauty and spirit of South Moravia. I will always treasure these memories and continue to look back on this unforgettable journey.

Helena was fantastic. She taught us a lot. The caves were worth the trip. They are beautiful. The boat ride made it different from caves we have seen previously. The castle tour was good, but you have to read English pamphlets.

Our tour was an unforgettable experience - Ivana was a knowledgeable and friendly guide who took us to all the key places in Brno and also provided us with links to visit additional museums and other places of interest. We'd highly recommend this individualized and excellent opportunity!

Jan was very friendly and informative. He gave us an excellent tour of Brno, led us to excellent food, and shared a list of the places we went and dishes we tried. I’d greatly recommend this tour or any tour with Jan.

We were treated to a good variety of local food, lots of it and we certainly didn’t need dinner afterwards. For us though the best part of the tour was the knowledge we gained from Juan, a native of Brno. He was excellent in his approach and we really enjoyed his company and the little stories shared. Excellent.

We visited several key sites, each showcasing the innovative design and practical beauty of modernist architecture. The Alfa Palace is amazing, as we came to know that its innovative use of space set a standard for modernist local architecture. We also explored some city blocks that showcase how modernist principles shaped urban planning in Brno, which was fascinating. We appreciate how the guide explained the principles of functionalism and how this style revolutionized Brno in the early 20th century. Overall, this tour was a perfect blend of education, inspiration and discovery.
