Limon 2026 Calendar of Events

We've just returned from a two week cruise. One of our stops was Limon, Costa Rica. It's been over two weeks, and we are still talking, thinking, and dreaming of our day in Limon. Our guide for the day was a gentleman named Walker. We would not had have the incredible experience we did, without him. He truly knows and loves his country. So informative, and super personable. He made our experience perfect! We started off zip-lining, with a mangrove boat tour. The zip-lining was AMAZING. Very long runs, and a LOT of them! Breathtaking scenery, fantastic staff. So helpful and happy! We felt 100% safe. A woman in our group was afraid of heights, and by the second run, she was having the time of her life! The boat cruise was much quieter, but we saw a baby caiman, a sloth, an iguana, a number of cool birds, and a gorgeous basilisk. The boat guide was very informative, and found animals that we would never have seen! We'll be back for sure!

Guide Steven was excellent - lots of information and couple extra stops for local highlights Zip lines were very good second only to the much larger Quanacaste ones with friendly and helpful staff Canal cruise staff pointed out all local creatures present and took care to make sure all saw them

My wife and I booked this tour in connection with a Panama Canal cruise, but unfortunately the morning we were scheduled to dock in Limon the seas were too heavy and the mooring lines were snapping so the captain would not let anyone off the ship.Although the scheduled cancellation policy is 24 hours advance notice, Greenway and Cool Destinations issued a full refund. That’s how you do business!We have used Cool Destinations for other tours and have found them to be A+ every time.

We spent a whole day exploring Limon. Our guide Ariel was very informative and very organized with our tour. He was also very knowledgeable about all the plants and animals we saw went we visited the Natural Park, banana plantation and the river cruise. Our driver Hanner was also great in providing safe trip.

We had the most amazing guide. They had our tour messed up but he took care of everything. He was informative, very knowledgeable about the area and lots of fun. He made it an awesome trip.

This was overall a great tour. The bus ride was a little long, but we saw sloths, monkeys, cayman, lots of birds, snakes, banana plants, cacao trees and more. The restrooms in the rainforest had no toilet paper, so you might want to bring some. Also, most of the sloths and monkeys were pretty high up in the trees so binoculars or a camera with a telephoto lens would be good to have. The website says no food or drinks provided, but they did give us a bottle of water and some fresh fruit. We also had time for a quick late lunch at the banana plantation.

We had the Best day in Costa Rica today! Beautifully perfect weather with no rain in sight. Our guide Stephen Saeger picked us up (very small group) and stayed with us all day. Meeting him outside Puerto Limon was no problem. We drove approximately 1 hour to the zip line canopy tour. Everyone there was skilled were having so much fun. They really wanted us to have the best experience and cared about keeping us safe. The zipline was the best was to see the beautiful rainforest. It was 11 stations and we flew way above the trees. (no mosquitoes) Then we drove to the Tortuguero River and took a 1 hour boat tour where our guides showed us the wildlife that lives in Costa Rica. Then on the way home Stephen asked us what else we would like to do. He took us to local restaurant for lunch and then took us to the best place to buy coffee. He did everything to show us his beautiful country and I really appreciate all the extra time he took with us. We feel like we learned a lot about Costa Rica and we have only happy memories!

This tour had a good itinerary, an entertaining driver, GATTO and a knowledgeable guide ARIEL we were happy that we selected this tour of Costa Rica. We saw city highlights, a plantation, the countryside, the ocean and rainforest, took a short boat trip, and enjoyed seeing numerous birds and animals. Excellent service.

Great tour, well organized and interesting. Fio did an excellent job. We loved seeing the organic plantation as well as the National Park. Good value and they made sure we were back to our cruise ship with plenty of time to spare.

Lots of fun, our driver was great and informative. We had a wonderful day stopped at spits to show us things and give us information.

Got an overall feel for Limon & its wildlife. Nice a/c bus with friendly driver & guide. Rainy hot humid day held us back a bit

We enjoyed our tour with Greenway Tours in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. It was a nice combination of activities with the walk through the rain forest and crossing the suspension bridges then the boat ride to see crocodiles and birds. Our guide, Josae, and driver, Gainer, were excellent. I would highly recommend them if you are every in Puntarenas.

Come prepared for rain. Waterproof or plastic best for long walk in puddles. Worth the walk in the rain.

We had a lot of fun at the zipline the boatride was interesting , only the weather was not on our side. Our tourguide was nice and friendly , told us a lot about the people and the land

We took this excursion while on a Princess Cruise (not through Princess). It was a great tour. Saw a great variety of wildlife and how agriculture and farm’s work in the Limon area. Josue is very knowledgeable and explains things in an easy to understand format. Our driver was Franz and we was very efficient without being a speed demon! They were on time and fun to be around.

This was by far the BEST tour I have taken due to the expertise of our guide, Jesus. He was knowledgeable on all topics; history, animals, plants, etc. He was excited and made the adventure exciting. I suggest that he be promoted to instructor for new guides. He was sensitive to each guests need and to the group. He was able to adjust the program to avoid crowds and therefore making the experience fantastic for all of us. Bravo and congratulations. Our tour was on Dec 2, 2024.
