Klaipeda Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Very unique experience with knowledgeable and kind guides- and blokart world champions! It was such a fun day out on the beach doing a new activity for us.

Martynas was an exceptional guide because he made the tour interactive, rather than just speaking at us. At the beginning of the tour, he had us each introduce ourselves including specifying our home countries. He asked us questions throughout the tour and rewarded those with the correct answers with a self-printed historical postcard. Amber is very prevalent throughout the Baltic countries. i appreciated Martynas' story about how his parents would take him and his siblings to gather up amber on the beaches after a storm (especially in the winter)!

The tour began with a short ride to the first shoreside town and a walk through Witches Hill for about an hour. Then another short ride to the dead dunes and a trek through the sand to the ocean side with views. Then another short ride to view the live dunes from atop a hill. Then we opted to accept the offer of a $15 Euro boat ride where you get amazing views of the town and dunes from the water. Our guide Artur was awesome and encouraged us to try some local smoked fish at the pier. Then we rode back to our cruise ship from there. It was a lovely day and learned alot about the area. Just be aware of the physical walking involved. This is not a tour for people with mobility issues.

Amazing experience. Crosses everywhere. Powerful feelings, Its really worth to go there with or without guide. We went alone but on the way we found the history online and got the idea about this hill. Well done to the community

It was an exciting and wonderful experience to sail the Blokart along the beach. We had brilliant wind. Along the route, we even spotted a seal lying on the beach. Everything was well organised – from the meeting point to the briefing, and the photos and videos of the trip. The equipment is top-notch and I can highly recommend this trip.

A lovely afternoon with a knowledgeable guide in beautifully crafted canoes. Janis gave us a great afternoon would highly recommend this way of seeing the town.

Great introduction to the history and architecture of Klaipeda. Our guide Kristina was thoroughly knowledgeable and had a great dry sense of of humor.

We booked this as an excursion from the cruise port. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to tour the missile base before the large groups arrived. Highly recommend this tour if you hope to avoid the large tour bus cruise crowds. It was well worth it for us!

Guide was friendly, personable and very knowledgeable about the area. He moved at our pace. He kept good watch on our time for return to ship. Entrance into Cold War Museum and Amber Museum is an extra charge but very reasonable. Very nice to be ahead of the tour buses in the museum.

2 hours is enough to see old town in a walking tour. the guide needs to work on her English. Also the local guide tour told us to meet at Klaipeda castle , but the meeting place was at the bridge with ghost statueda
