Burano Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

We had a great kayak with Filippo! He took us out into the beautiful nature where we got to learn about the history of Burano and the nearby islands and see fisherman in action. We saw birds and took small canals only accessible by kayak. Filippo was a great guide. He was knowledgeable about the location and passionate about the lagoon.

It was a lovely trip to see the hidden parts of Burano with its nature and history!

After Rome came Venice, completely different city but same City Pass of Turbopass. And here again a smooth experience. We visited the Doges Palace, experienced a typical Venice gondola ride and also drove to the colorful islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello all included and much more. Again, clear purchase recommendation and great chat function in the City Pass APP where you can just ask a question that will be answered directly by the nice team.

Silvia is a native of Burano, as were her ancestors, so you really can't get a better tour than hers. Besides being extremely informative, she is very personable and fully fluent in English. She leads you through her favorite parts of the island and has stories to tell about each one.

Burano is beautiful. Silvia made us feel like family, showing us her little parts of the island. She was kind and well knowledgeable of her home. Excellent trip. We will visit Burano again. The island’s beauty speaks for itself, but Silvia is top tier!

Good City Pass, worth its price. We were able to visit the main tourist attractions without problems and EN complete tranquility, and had a pleasant stay in Venice.

We stayed in Venice for five days and were absolutely delighted with the city. Since we usually organize our days individually, the Turbo Pass helped us a lot.The purchase was uncomplicated and quick, just a few seconds after the purchase the digital card was in my mailbox. The use was also very easy: We only went to the meeting point and presented the digital ticket at the corresponding counter. There we received the original tickets without any problems.The most important sights, such as the gondola ride and a city tour, were already included. We found it particularly pleasant that the meeting place for the activities was always the same. That made planning a lot easier.Conclusion: Absolutely recommended, We would use the Turbo Pass again anytime!

Kayaking around Burano was so peaceful. Such a change from the busy streets of Venice. Filippo gave great explanations as we paddled around the protected areas. We did need to cross a few sections where motor boats travel. Filippo ensured we only paddled once there was enough time to cross safely. I do recommend that you have experience kayaking or have good upper body strength for this almost 2 hour tour. My niece commented that her arms were very tired and she was thankful we ended when we did. Pay attention to the meeting point location as it is on Burano but Cool Destinations states it is in Venice. The #12 water bus will get you to the correct place.

Fantastic kayak tour with local guide. Took an early water bus #12 to Burano before the crowds arrived. Learned about the history of Burano and boating and Paddled through canals around the islands, a wonderful quiet respite. Highly recommended.

We used the Venice City Pass during our 3-day stay in Venice and were very satisfied. All the important sights we wanted to visit were included: the Doge's Palace, the gondola ride and the island tour to Murano, Burano and Torcello. We saved a lot of time and effort by making previous reservations.Picking up the tickets went smoothly after we had followed the instructions we received by email. The use of public transport was also included in the pass, so we could comfortably ride the vaporetto without having to buy additional tickets.However, I recommend reading all the notes carefully before travelling, especially because of the time-bound reservations. Overall, a very good solution to experience Venice comfortably and well organized. We would definitely use the pass again!

We had a great time in Venice! Thanks to the pass, we didn't have to worry about what we wanted to see or where we'd rather save the entrance, it's pretty much all in. A little tip: You should have your ID with you to use an audio guide, but you should always have it with you anyway;)

Silvia was our guide and she could not have been anymore wonderful. After we missed the time for the boat ride to Burano, we rescheduled after she graciously agreed to a later meeting time! She is from Burano and showed us the back streets where people actually live, including her grandmother and her orange house, which she hopes one day will be pink It could not have been any better!

I very much enjoyed my tour with Filippo and can only recommend it to anybody else! It's a great option to get away from all the masses in Venezia and really appreciate the lagune's nature.First you will learn more about rowing traditions in Venezia, than the kayaking tour starts through the protected and hidden areas of Burano and more. Very nice and calming!Just to clarify for anybody interested, since I've seen confusion in other comments: This booking is for the tour with Filippo, but then you need additional 30€ in cash for the rowing school to rent your kayak.I recommend this to anybody looking for an authentic and slow non-touristic experience in Vienna and had a great time myself!
