It was powerful an emotional. Real heavy but a great experience. It explained so much about things I learned as a child to see it in person and place your feet in the same places as our black history ancestors was an unforgettable experience.

The experience was remarkable. Wes is such an amazing and knowledgeable person. We went harder than we thought we could. Wes was always positive and encouraging. This is an adventure like no other. My son and I will never forget this moment. We spent 4 hrs in the cave, it certainly didn't feel that long. I would highly recommend this for anyone who want to push themselves and have a blast doing it. Great way to make a memory with with family and friends, that will never be forgotten. Again, Wes was the best. Thanks for giving my son and I an experience of a lifetime.

An extensive and excellent exploration of Birmingham’s history of segregation and the struggle for Civil Rights. Mike was an enthusiastic and personable guide and was very forthright about the ugliness and terror of the era. The van/walking format allowed comfortable visits to Collegeville and Dynamite Hill and a large area of downtown (despite the August heat). The highlight of our trip!

This is not your everyday cave tour. This is a true adventure. We (70 yr old couple) took two granddaughters (10&11) on this trip. Wes was amazing and spend over 4 hours with us on the is tour. We shimmied through tight crevices, trekked across precipices, scooted through flowing streams. We are all under 200lb and there were a few times we had to do contortions to get through. If you have fear of heights, tight spaces, water or dark this might not be for you. But if you would like a real cave in the wild experience this was amazing.

We had a very nice time with our guide Cindy. My grandson had a great time capturing Pokémon characters and I had a nice time riding around campus and Tuscaloosa.

Informative, entertaining and fun! Our tour was well paced and Shawn encouraged and answered all our questions. He had a nice clear speaking voice and had many historical facts to share!

Led by our knowledgeable docent, Shawn Shallow, he guided us through a most memorable, educational and historical journey of the Coastguards history past and present. Shawn provided a very welcoming experience for us as we learnt about the new Birmingham Coastguard training facility due to be opened later this year.A tour is a must for all new recruit parents visiting Birmingham Coastguard training facility this year.We attended the first USCG/Ghost Tour Shawn completed and as such he presented us with 2 copies of his book Rescue at the Top of the World. As Coastie parents we were able to provide a lot of additional information that I believe Shawn my incorporate in future tours.

Even as adults who attended Bama and have lived for decades in the state, we learned things we didn’t know. Fun to see things in T-town we knew nothing about.

We had the opportunity to experience a wonderful tour, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Our tour guide was nothing short of exceptional. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and culture of city with us.She took the time to answer all of our questions, made sure everyone felt included, and never made us feel rushed. Her friendly personality and attention to detail made the experience both enjoyable and memorable.If you’re looking for a tour that is informative, engaging, and led by someone who truly cares about creating a great experience, I highly recommend this tour. Hit the highlights of Project C, the Children’s March with glimpses of Birmingham’s musical heritage. However, the tour should include the site where Dr. King was jailed and locations from the Freedom Rides.
