Aspen Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Dean is an excellent tour guide - knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. One person in our group lives in Aspen, and even she learned new and interesting things about her city. The walk itself was very comfortable and east.

We took Deans history tour and enjoyed learning more about a city we have visited before. We visited both historic sites as well as modern architecture, and street art. We loved seeing a city through the eyes of a local and learning more about ways the city manages its development and housing challenges. My favorite was seeing the outdoor murals of the same artist who created the Obama murals and graphics. Would love to take another tour with Dean on our next visit.

Tour covered highlights that i would have missed on this first time visit for me; and it gave me a great start to my visiting Aspen. Definitely recommend.

This hike was great! I did three tours with Dean while in Aspen, and I loved all of them. This hike was beautiful - we got so many great photos of the mountains and waterfalls! Dean seamlessly stringed together several different trails and showed us the highlights. We really enjoyed this tour.

Dean's ghost tour was excellent! The stories were spooky and interesting, and Dean is a very good storyteller. I highly recommend this tour! It's a great evening activity to both see key attractions around Aspen while learning about its dark history. The tour is entertaining and interactive.

Our photographer Claire was amazing and so much fun to work with. We asked her to recommend a location and she delivered…beautiful and scenic, but only a short drive from town. We just got our photos today and they are stunning! Very pleased with this experience.

We really enjoyed all of the of the specific stories about the individuals in the cemetery. There was variety and it was apparent a lot of time and thought had gone into the presentation and the details were fascinating.

We enjoyed this self guided audio tour. Have been to Aspen many times and did not know much of this history. Include fall foliage and perfect temps it was a great way to start Sunday Morning

Great tour guide, very informed. Architectural interest - we wouldn’t have known about this otherwise.

I did this with a 6, 8, and 10 year old. They really enjoyed it. We didn’t get to finish because my phone battery ran out but I would do it again. The kids really enjoyed the questions asked of them along the way. Some of the “explorer” questions were definitely meant for adults but that’s ok. In the instructions it would be helpful if you could tell us that more than one child can take the role of the “youngster”. Definitely a fun activity and great for kids.

Great overview of town and nice insights about Aspen’s history. And Dean was informative about the bear activity.

The tour was a perfect timeslot and very interesting. The personal touches of flags, whiskey shots, and flowers among the jacks for the kids graves, it was an interesting hoot.
