What To Expect
Sutri, built on a tuffaceous bank and very important in the Middle Ages as a military outpost before Rome. Here we will see an ancient Roman amphitheater carved into the rock of the time of Augustus, I BC. We pass by Nepi dominated by a fortress owned by the famous Pope Alexander VI and and pope Paul III. Nepi is a village of faliscan origins , an ancient people dating back to the 9th century BC. a citadel surrounded by woods, waterfalls, and ancient necropolis carved into the rock. We will take a trekking walk of about 1 h and 30 minutes trough nature, in the woods, along an ancient Roman road 'Amerina', 241 b.C. ,between gorges and streams and ancient tombs .. The trekking excursion is not difficult, class T, about 5 km with a minimum difference in height, it is necessary to wear suitable shoes, hat, and bring enough water. social small size and vaccinated dogs are wellcome.
