Oak Alley or Laura Plantation Tour from New Orleans

Our bus driver KP was great. He pointed out sights of interest on the way, and was on time both picking up and returning. The time at the plantation was a bit short, but I had read that and knew to expect a quick turn around. I appreciated the new emphasis on discussing both the lives of the enslaved people that made the plantation great, as well as the family. Wonderful trip with a good historical perspective of the times.

Amazing tour guide at plantation. Very knowledgeable and funny. Many movies were done at this place in the last 60 years.

Simply wonderful. Our driver was fantastic as he regaled us with information and facts along the way to our tour. Tour itself was interesting, informative and the main house inside and out were beautiful. The history of the plantation was both fascinating but also somewhat shameful regarding the slaves and I'm sure toned down for the subject matter.

The Plantation House was interesting. Our tour guide however seemed unattached to the group and gave a memorized speech. The information provided was still good. We then had abundant time to self tour on the property. The guide down by the slave quarters was excellent with both his knowledge and an engaging personality. He also grew up a mile or two from the plantation.

The tour guide at the Laura Plantation displayed a deep knowledge of its history. There's a tiny museum behind the store that delves deeper into the lives of the enslaved people.

This tour was an awesome look into our history and definitely invokes discussion regarding slavery in our country. Our tour guide for the Laura Plantation did a great job telling the story of the Creole family that owned that plantation and what is was like being a slave. The Laura Plantation had a lot of original artifacts still from the family that were on display and it helped me visualize what it was like to live on a plantation and also how the slaves lived as well. The Laura Plantation also has a small museum with more artifacts and information about the family and slaves that worked on the plantation. Everything about the tour was very thought provoking and shows us how much we still need to overcome in this country.

The driver got us there and back safely. I loved that most of the tour was self guided. The Oak Alley plantation your was a beautiful and enriching experience.
