Highly recommend the Laura and Oak Valley combination. The Laura provided both sides of the plantation life and cluture with details of how the owners and slaves interacted.

This tour was fantastic! Jim, our tour guide was brilliant! I highly recommend the tour. I did Whitney and Oak Alley Plantations. Read someone else's review and took a packed lunch and didn't have to waste time getting food at Oak Alley. The tour wasn't rushed and we got to see everything. I learnt so much about New Orleans culture and beginnings too.

It was my friend, Laura’s 50th birthday and we did the Oak Alley and Laura plantation tour. Both were amazing and hopefully it made a great day for her. Gerald, our driver was amazing, entertaining and very, very informative. When I return to New Orleans I will definitely seek out your tours and if lucky, Gerald.

Our trip to both plantations, Whitney and Laura, was very informative. The driver of the bus was a good story teller and very funny. The guides at both the plantations were highly knowledgeable with a good grasp of history. If you are in New Orleans and have a day to spare, I would highly recommend a visit to these plantations.

Our tour guide Jim was a wonderful thoughtful teacher who had a background in history and landscape topography. He was passionate about the History of Louisiana and shared a wealth of his knowledge with us! The plantations were fascinating and the Whitney was especially an amazing museum on the history and stories of the slavery. The world of slavery came to life during the time we experienced the environment. Well worth the time we spent away form the the city.

Tour guide was great. Trip was well organized and had lots of good information. Exhibits were very good and well cared for. The whole trip explained local history very well and gave a perspective from both sides.

Did the Laura and Oak Alley tours. Laura Plantation (tour guide Stephen) was excellent. Lots of history of the family who owned/worked the plantation. Did not know that the Uncle Remus/Tar Baby stories came from this area. Glad this plantation has been saved/preserved. On the other hand, the Oak Alley plantation tour is more self-guided. While the areas around the large home have good signage that was very informative, did not like the house tour where there was constant "slant" of political views around the South/slavery. Would recommend the house tour guides just stick to historical facts.
