Overview

March through November, daily; limited dates in the off-season!

Impressive Victorian mansions and quirky residents have earned national attention for Old Louisville, where bourbon barons, racetrack royalty, and titans of tobacco settled in the 1800s. This narrated walk comes from books by David Dominé, who often guides groups himself. Tales involve personal experiences and neighborhood gossip. The New York Times recommends this as the first thing to do during a visitor's "36 Hours in Louisville." You'll also learn about A DARK ROOM IN GLITTER BALL CITY, David's next book—out in October 2021!

Specializing in "America's Most Haunted Neighborhood," we depart from the corner of Fourth and Ormsby, at the transitional edge of the neighborhood. If you love old architecture and spooky history, this is the tour for you! If you do not like an up-and-coming neighborhood with a diverse racial make up, this tour is not for you! If you can't go 100 minutes without a bathroom, this is not for you!

My teenage daughter and I both appreciated this tour of the architecture and people who have lived here… and the history that remains…

Angelique was awesome! She kept the stories rolling and had everyone engaged. I stayed at a nearby B&B and the owner verified some of the details of the ghost stories. Lovely location.

Our tour guide, Quinton, was VERY GOOD! Big shout out to her for: her projection, she was quick and clever; amazingness to memorize quantities of information, her fun and easy way to capture our attention and keep things moving! GREAT experience, definetely worth the $25 to see the homes and architecture of old L'ville, hear the interesting stories and share in some of the spookiness that went along with the history!

The stories were great. Our guide knew the history and ghost legends well. The only suggestion I have is let the slowest walker set the pace. The tour is advertised good for ages 6-99, so when you have an older person who can't walk as fast, slow down a little.

Fun and entertaining! Took at least 2 hours but did not feel like it! Crowd was not huge. Walk was nice and not to far.

Our tour was great, the walk time was perfect and the content intriguing, but well explained for the younger set. Quintin, our tour guide was a master of the information and engaging as she explained the lore and history. Beautiful area.

Quinton was a fabulous tour guide! I really enjoyed all the stories, and she had a great way of telling them that felt very authentic without sensationalism. It’s a great way to explore that beautiful and historic neighborhood and enjoy the architecture as well as get a little spooked.

We left halfway through because we were dead tired but what a great experience. The guide was good at telling the haunted stories but also elaborated on the general history of the area.
