Join our local Sami guides to visit Abisko, one of the best places to see the northern lights. We will give you an enjoyable evening with 3-course dinner, where we talk about the Sami culture, nature, and the Northern Lights, a visit and guiding in the Abisko area to see and experience the spectacular Aurora Borealis, or depending on weather, a chase for the Northern Lights on the way back to Kiruna. On the way to Abisko we will pass several weather zones which makes it possible to get a glimpse of aurora even when it is more or less cloudy weather. We also provide you with tripods for your camera or mobile phone if you need.

Meeting and Pickup
Pick up Icehotel at the meeting point 4.30 pm. Note no free pick up from Icehotel between Dec 20 to Jan 5. Outside Kiruna tourist office 4.45 pm. Camp Ripan, at the reception 5.00 pm. Please be on location 5 minutes before departure, we are not waiting longer than 5 minutes for you. If you are late, please contact us.

What To Expect
From Kiruna, we drive into the night by car. Our goal is to catch the northern lights, learn more about nature, local culture, and visit the famous Abisko. Outside the window, we see the stars, and if we are lucky, a hint of green auroras in the sky.
1.5 hours later, we are there for a three-course dinner down in the village of Abisko. We talk about nature, Sami culture, northern lights, and local history. We can never guarantee that we will see the aurora, but if the weather is good after dinner, we will take a walk in the Abisko area to experience the landscape and look for the northern lights. Our local guides are trained photo guides, so if you bring your camera, we will help you take photos.
If the weather isn’t good in Abisko, we start driving back to Kiruna, and if we’re lucky, the sky clears up so we can stop to see the northern lights.
