Athy Private Boat Tour
Overview
Your tour begins in Athy, gliding along the scenic River Barrow and underneath the historic Horse Bridge towards Ardreigh. As you approach Ardreigh, you’ll travel under the Ardreigh Lifting Bridge, an area rich in history and folklore. One of the highlights of the journey is passing through Ardreigh Lock, where you can watch the crew operate the lock gates just as it was done centuries ago. Don’t forget your camera—this stretch of the river offers breathtaking views and plenty of picturesque moments to capture. This is a round-trip cruise, returning to the jetty in Athy. While the experience is designed for relaxation and enjoyment, our crew is always happy to share fascinating stories about the local history, heritage, and wildlife of the Barrow. As you pass several historical sites, feel free to ask the crew for insights or tales of the river’s past. Your skipper and crew will provide a unique perspective on life along the Barrow Navigation, making this a truly memorable journey.
