This is a must! The views were amazing! The hike to the weather station is also something you should do. The employees with the gondola ere helpful and friendly. The history displayed inside the top is worth taking time to read.

We took the gondola up to the top for supper at the Northern Lights buffet. It was amazing going up in the light and coming back in the dark, getting full advantage of day and night views. Dress for the weather and there is a hike (on platforms and stairs built for ease of access) once you are at the top; an interpretive centre; two restaurants; and amazing views. I'd love to come in summer and hike up the mountain and gondola down, but it would take a few hours, I'm guessing.

A little pricey but the view is phenomenal. The snow was really coming down at the top of the mountain but the staff were immediately on it- clearing pathways to ensure people were safe to walk around the outdoor areas. The educational centre inside was really interesting and I was surprised to find out that the mountain used to be the flat sea floor.. it’s so high up! Not a trip to do if you’re afraid of heights. The staff are mostly international and super friendly and helpful. The cafe food was good and we had a wonderful time.

Absolute must do when in Banff. Excellent shuttle from town, once at the top the weather was good and the views spectacular. So amazing was emotional to finally make it after the dreary couple years we have had with Covid. The place is clean, didn’t realise would be so many walkways and amazing view points. Only sad thing was it was the day we learned our Queen had just passed away so will always remember where we were. Banff was amazing town quite pricey but to be expected as so popular.

Our first day in Banff, we decided to do the gondola and spent about 45 minutes at the peak. We opted out of the hike since we weren’t really dressed for the cold.It was an amazing experience and has views like you’ve never seen before. If altitude isn’t your friend, I wouldn’t suggest you do this on your first day…. Perhaps towards the end of your trip to allow your body to adapt to the altitude.

Views were incredible!!! The ride was slow and easy, so we didn’t feel nervous or sick! Staff was very friendly, and we got a picture at the end! Definitely recommend eating at the Northern Lights restaurant (buffet) and walking the boardwalk!

It was magical at the top of the mountain, it had just snowed, was so beautiful and peaceful! The servers at the restaurant were super nice and the people at the gifts shop were so friendly, they took the time to help and talk to us. Great experience!

Book your ticket online rather then at the gondola itself...this will save you about $10. You can show the e-tickets on your phone upon arrival and walk right in without waiting in line to purchase a ticket.Another option is to book in advance as the earlier you book the more you save...this is risky though as the weather can change and you may have saved some money but have brutal weather.

The gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain is a must-do in Banff. On a nice day (which we had), the views are spectacular. There is an observation deck as well as a boardwalk to the old weather station, so you can get great looks in every direction. Inside, there are information displays as well as a short video presentation. There are two restaurants at the top (both VERY expensive) but with terrific scenic vistas to enjoy. There's also a coffee shop with a few treats to pick from that should tide you over. The gift shop was also surprisingly good. The rides up and down are fun. Of course, if you want to save on the admission, you can hike the distance. But that takes time and energy.
